Would definitely recommend the two wash method. The 2nd wash shrank them down a lot more. I waited till they were completely dry in between.

 

I'm wearing mine now after just one hot wash and they do feel a little long/big in the leg still, I think I'll probably throw them in again just to make sure most of the shrink is gone.

Walked into the office this morning, and what was on my desk? Whoo hoo!

 

This denim is going to be an absolute pleasure. There seems to be a slight grey cast to it, and a lot of slub is apparent looking at the weft side. Weather is pretty crappy right now, so it'll probably be Sunday before I can wash these jeans and hang them out to dry.

 

Thanks of course to Ryo and Hiro, and the crew at Standard & Strange for putting this all together and their lovely note.

 

My tarot card was The Tower, which apparently means danger or a crisis. Damn, this contest just got heavy.

My favorite little detail that I noticed so far: They kept the selvedge on the pocket bags!

They are still a bit long for my liking so will probably throw them in the wash again within the next couples days and bring them over to blackblue in St. Paul to get some length taken off. Otherwise extremely happy with the fit and plus the denim is already so soft and comfortable that these are going to be such a pleasure to wear.

I wonder how they chose the tarot cards? I got "JUDGEMENT" which is somewhat fitting given the contest. Hard to focus at work right now with these sitting on my desk next to me lol

I know, I didn't wear mine to work today because I had a bunch of dirty jobs to take care of and dint want to filth them up the first day. Can't wait to get home and pit them back on.

Here they are after 1 day wear with my 660s they will be replacing as my daily wear jeans. Pretty sure I got all the shrink out after a hot wash and 10 minutes in the dryer. 3 inches in the inseam and the waist is already tight so I'm just going for it. My card is the moon, and is now a one wash version. Great fits everyone really excited this is starting up

been wearing them since I got home from work, favorite new detail is this slubby spot in my right pocket that sits right where my fingers are when I have them inside the pockets. I can't stop obsessively rubbing it.....

Threw them in the wash without measuring first oops...Going to throw them in again to make sure I get alllllll the shrink out though! The contest will be a good way for me to start putting my new Fujifilm X70 to use, I'm finding

I really appreciated the note S&S threw in as well:

Did anyone else realize there was an offset belt loop? Definitely wasn't expecting it but very cool to see!

3:00am here and the jeans are fresh out of 2 washes/drier trips. Without a doubt, the 02 cut is unequivocally THE MOST versatile cut I've ever tried on, and I honestly don't have a more favorite fit out of everything I own. Slim, loose in the waist where I need it most, with a perfect amount of taper. I've always said I'm an Ooe fan for life, but I legit need to stock up on 02 cuts to last me a lifetime...

 

I can already tell that this denim will crock at a somewhat faster pace as there is some slight creasing from it's rounds in the drier, accelerated by the crispiness of the LHT I'm guessing. It'll be awesome to see how the almost brown cast will turn blue over time, and how these will soften up with wear over the next few days. Also interesting that I don't get the same amount of crinkles and roping as on RHT, but I plan to blast these through wash/drying often per my usual routine. Initial report and impressions for now!

great fits everyone especially love GGIS leisure fit and Pudas trim fit.

Pudas these jeans make you look devilishly slim, and they sit great over the the cowboy boots.

I think these jeans have just the right amount of anti-fit for me. They are very classic looking without looking too out of place among modern fits.

Apologies for the lack of shoes but at least I'm wearing socks!

And the photos are a little dark, it's very cloudy here today but I did what I could with my old digital camera. 

This is the fit on my pair after two hot washes and trips though the drier. I'm very happy with the fit, and I agree with aho that the 02 cut is one of the most versatile I've come across. Also this denim doesn't seem to crinkle as much as the OA denim on my other pair of 02XX's. Length wise these still feel a little long, but I imagine over time they will end up a similar length to my OA02XX's which is my ideal inseam length. I can wear them double cuffed with sneakers and a single cuff for boots.

ive lost a bit of bloat over the past few months so I imagine I could have pulled off a 35, but the TCB contest allowed me to adjust my parameters for an ideal fit, and the size 36 that I went with is loose enough to allow a nice range of motion and comfort with a bit more streamlined appearance.  I also realized I cant get any hot water to my washing machine, so next time I am at the inlaws Ill probably sneak a hot wash in for good measure

Another little thing that I noticed is that only one of my pocket bags has the selvedge still intact. 

I love the vertical texture to the denim after it hits water, very nice.

yea I noticed that as well Broark.  

 

The coarseness of this denim reminds me a bit of when my Full Count XX were newer.  That slightly rough hand as you stroke the denim.  I love texture, and Im glad this denim has more of it than the standard OOE XX denim

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one with one different pocket bag. 

I'm glad these have more texture than the normal OA denim. It's great but I've been wearing my pair for some time now and definitely wanted something with a little more subtle irregularity to it without.

With you guys 100%...This is a nice change up to the OAXX denim for me since it's been a year and 4 months since I've worn anything else. Of course they're taking off now fade wise (will try to get pics up eventually) but this new pair will get there eventually!

We went through the whole deck of cards, picked out the 15 most awesome cards, and then distributed largely at random.  AHO - you got two 'cause you set this up.

 

The letters were all hand-typed.  All I have to say about that is that I am glad we have computers now.

Aho, patch looks great for 2 wash/2 dry.  Mine is a bit more irregular but I usually treat the patch first thing before I machine wash to help ward off any damage.  Worked for the TCB contest as my patch is not nearly as worn and leathery as other, but this time around it seems to have not done as much

Thanks volvo! I have a 34 inch waist, and sized up 2 to a 36. I always trust the manufacturer's recommendation on sizing to get their intended fit!

Ya these jeans really shrink so much ( and stretch so much) . My 35 measured 16" after 2 washes.

Now they are comfortably stretched out to 17" where I think they'll more or less stay.
