    WAYWT 2023 [Denim Edition]

These were released in 2017, very cool details: https://www.bandanna-almanac.com/the-bandanna-almanac/2017/03/05/ooe-yofukuten-double-wear-overalls-10oz-deep-blue-denim

    Denime

@mk3radial it's a mock neck tee and it is available on the Warehouse website (along with a few other Denime tees) here: https://www.ware-house.co.jp/?mode=cate&cbid=2832593&csid=0

@julian-wolf I’m not 100% sure about this but they told me they weren’t going on sale until Friday (when I saw the pair they were just being unboxed), so my guess is they had one collective pool of inventory for both online and in-store shopping.

I saw these at the shop in Santa Fe earlier this week, they’re nice but I already have two pairs of the same Cone from Barnstormer. I agree that the hype is kinda annoying. Glad they’re successful though.

Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.

Quick double post: road tripping to Santa Fe this coming week (we always try to leave town during SXSW), anyone here familiar with that city? Looking for suggestion / recommendations on stuff to do. I've never been, we already have a few things planned. I'll do my best to take photos and share with y'all!

Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.

My first pair was either from Left Field or Rogue Territory back in ~2011 as they were available locally. I was inspired to start dressing more presentably after kinda exiting a big stoner phase. Felt like I needed to get my shit together and at the time that meant I needed to wear something besides band tees and flip flops then somehow ended up on Styleforum. But The Flat Head is what originally sparked my interest in Japanese denim. I did a lot of trial and error shopping early on trying to find the right cut (spoiler alert: I bought a bunch of shit that didn't really fit my frame at all as I was just trying to fit in with what was popular at the time and my weight was fluctuating) but eventually became enamored with Roy's stuff, so I'd say the KS1001 was the pair really got me deep into it.

I didn't take any pre-wash measurements, but I agree with your sentiments of it shrinking roughly a full size.

Just a few fit pics of the hooded sweat after a wash and dry. I'm wearing a t-shirt underneath it, feels a little big but I'd prefer that over too small. And I know these Lumberjack trousers might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I like them a lot.

I just washed my pair last week after 3 months of regular wear, I'm finding that they fade pretty quickly. Will get some photos up of them after a little more wear.

It is one of my favorite features of the fabric, feels very unique. Been thinking about getting the sweatpants too, so I'll have a full tracksuit.

@Jeef1 no problem see below, this was washed cold and spun dry for about ~30-45 min on medium heat. Chest: 24 in. Shoulders: 24 in. Back length: 25.5 in. Sleeves: 21.5 in. Like @Duke Mantee mentioned this was designed with oversized shoulders, which explains the short sleeve measurements and boxy looking measurements. And here are some photos of the new sweat vs the crewneck I got last year. It hasn't started fading much yet but it's getting there. The most noticeable different is in the texture on the outside of the weave. When new it is very soft, but over time it has gotten a little more coarse.

Washed and dried all the sweatshirts yesterday and got a good amount of shrinkage, I usually hang dry them but wanted to get as much shrink as possible. I'll take some comparison shots of the navy crewneck from last year vs the new hooded one to see how much the fabric has faded. @UkeNo I started wearing my 661XX this week, really nice cut. I don't usually wear anything that's tapered, but I find that it's not too dramatic or disproportional to the rest of the pattern.

@Duke Mantee They definitely feel oversized right now, I have the navy crewneck from last year in the same size anticipating that after washing they'll end up fitting similarly. Giving them all a wash now and I'll report back.

Another package from Hoosier: my favorite sweatshirts, Ultima Thule hat and Lumberjack trousers.

    Warehouse

Echoing Maynard that Yahoo is a good option, lots of Warehouse sweats up there.

    Warehouse

@Dr_Heech I tried checking at some of the usual suspects and most shops appear to be sold out for the year, Warehouse sweats seem to sell pretty quickly these days. But if you're looking for oatmeal or heather grey they have size 42 available direct from Warehouse: https://www.ware-house.co.jp/?pid=144685631 Just click the overseas shipping button, fill out the color / size and contact information on the form and they'll send you a PayPal invoice. Very straightforward, no hassle.

Do they come with a personal landscaper that'll trim them for you? Yeesh.

Love the way the Freewheelers hardware ages, I noticed my '37 back pocket rivets are starting to hit that pink stage.

I could be wrong about this, but I think the inspiration is from one of the FW head honchos Kendo Maruyama, as he seems to be very into collectible figurines. They've been listed as "advertisement figurines", so think of it kind of like a pair of those massive vintage Levi's that retailers used to hang in their shops as displays. You can check his Instagram here and see some of his collectibles: https://www.instagram.com/kendomaruyama/ Also the figurines are much larger than I originally thought, the product photos don't really give them a proper sense of scale.

I have similar feelings towards wabash, I feel like it's a little difficult for me to wear for some reason. I like the look of the Ironalls wabash shirt after it's been worn a bit, but mine hasn't seen much frequent wear. Might try to incorporate it into the rotation more frequently. And the figurines are funny, I'm a FW fan but not that much of a fan. They're not cheap!

Maybe Sushi will buy it off you. Glad to hear all is well and that's a rational call. Doubtful but if you've got anything my size just holler.

Nice score @LazyS, fits you well. The pockets remind me of this.

Fortunately for my wallet I don't think we're the same size. Unless you've got some larger stuff hidden away. I guess now's my chance to have the largest FW collection outside of Japan. In all seriousness though, hope everything is going alright Duke.

    Vintage Denim?

Beberjin has been posting some pretty amazing stuff this week, it's hard to keep track of it all. Nice find there doc. I can only imagine the prices for some of this stuff.

How so? I only tried this one on briefly yesterday, but it felt a little shorter / wider in the body than the two others I have.
