Shoes that look better with age...

Lofgren standard laces are downright horrible, laces on my pair broke within a couple of months of ownership. Olive leather on those Combat boots is looking nice!

Nice pickups! I'm enjoying the 601B a lot, so I have the RB coming soon along with a few other things too.

@MJF9 I'd be interested in real world measurements if you have the time, I've wanted to try these out but was concerned that the 42 might wind up a little small.

@Coolguyzack I just saw that too and it seems like he got hacked. Comments are disabled on that post.

@shredwin_206 so you've faded the pair on the left already in 10 days? Wouldn't put it past you.

I’d guess 12-15, somewhere in that range. So roughly once a month.

A year on the books for these S601XX's, I'll be relegating them to weekend wear mostly going forward. Just a bit too faded to wear to the office anymore I think. And a bonus fit pic of the 601B at the bottom!

The Sneakers we wear with our jeans

Anyone tired out Catchball Sneakers from Korea? I've seen a few retailers pick them up recently, was interested in trying a pair out. Pretty reasonably priced at certain shops.

I think I remember those from Warehouse, they were the 800 cut if I recall correctly? The color on these is interesting, the hardware has a nice black hue to it from what I'm assuming occurred during the wash (at least on the rivets, buttons seem to be overdyed black). Will get some fit pics up soon, was going to this afternoon but I'm dealing with some wasp nests currently.

I don't have a pair of standard 1951's (yet), but they are supposedly based on the same pattern.

Coming up on a year in these S601XX's. Highly recommended if anyone is looking for a pair of war era jeans, looks like FW just released a rerun of them.
  18. New Kendrick Lamar album released today, highly recommended that you listen to the entire album. Production quality is great.

Shoes that look better with age...

@Double 0 Soul we're definitely shaped by our experiences! Although the loafers my grandpa was wearing were probably more rugged looking and less dressy and were beat to hell. Could probably dig up a photo although it's been years since they sold the lake house (it wasn't nearly as fancy as it sounds), he'd wear them doing yard work and whenever we went out on the boat. Good memories. @fre-co thanks for your sizing experience, sounds like I might be safer with a 12 (which I believe is currently sold out) in that case. My 11.5 Trubalance Indy boots are comfortable. I'm a UK11/EU 45 in Paraboot, 12 in Lofgren and 11.5 in Viberg for reference.

Woof, those are horrible 00. In a similar vein I hate the "driver" style loafers. Those make me squirm... But I think there's something to be said about the Ivy style ones like the Aldens that I'm interested in. I've seen a lot of JP peeps wearing them and they look nice when styled well. Not entirely sold yet, just looking around.

Shoes that look better with age...

Thanks Duke, I've been studying that one for the last couple of days. Reading specifically about the Van last online it sounds like some struggle with sizing because of the fit across the top of the foot at the vamp. Also still deciding if I'm sold on loafers in general or not, guess I can always return them if I don't love them. Growing up I remember my grandpa wearing loafers that were beat to hell in his workshop at the lake, something about that style sticks out in my mind. These are the ones I've been considering.

Anyone have experience with the Alden Van last? Interested in a pair of LHS loafers for the summer, general consensus seems to be half a size down. I’m a 11.5 in the Trubalance, I also own a pair of black shell captoe boots in 11.5 on the Grant last and they’re admittedly not very comfortable. Just trying to avoid the pinky toe pinch that I experience on the Grant last if possible!

@JDelage the M-1938 doesn't seem very warm, the flannel lining is lightweight and so is the outer shell. Feels similar to a denim jacket, maybe a bit warmer since it is lined. The Field Cruiser isn't super heavy either, but it's a little warmer given the waxed cotton.

Good mail day today. Shame that it's scorching hot outside, but I'll put these to good use in the fall. However the tees will get put to use right away. Trying not to spam photos too much since it causes loading issues for some, if anyone wants more photos let me know. M-1938 field jacket, Field Cruiser made from British Millerain waxed cotton, two random striped tees and two graphic tees from the most recent season. I didn't realize the collar was folded until after I took photos...this was quick as I was starting to sweat.
