Got my flannel in as well as the catalog, really happy with the fit. I’ll try to get some fit pics at some point. Looks like they actually restocked the size 44 in a couple other colors so I might get another.

@jkbrwn I’ve always wanted to try those out, I’d be interested in your thoughts once you get them in. I wear Birks a lot during the summer and these seem like they’d be a good change of pace. -

Totally agree, jjjjound is one of the worst culprits of this. Sure, some of the NB colorways they come up with are nice, but nothing is worth paying three or four times the retail price. With the way NB has been doing releases the last few years you’re more likely to find another very similar color (minus the branding, whatever will one do without it?!) on sale by the end of the season anyways. -

It’s literally just different colorways and / or material combinations. The hype recently has been silly, especially with some of the collaborations. There was a recent pair of 993s they did with jjjjjound (idk if I got the right number of j’s or not but you get the idea) and for shits and giggles I jumped in the virtual queue when they were released. Evidently there were 78k people in front of me. I know that number isn’t likely real, a lot of people using bots to buy and resell but I still thought it was crazy to see for a show that doesn’t look that much different than a general release. FWIW I buy my pairs either at or below retail. Anyone paying resale prices for NB has a screw loose. -

Seconding New Balance, very comfortable and the made in US and UK models are pretty well made. Some of them get to be pretty hyped but can’t go wrong with the core grey or general releases. I find the 993 and 991 most comfortable, they’re supposedly bringing a bunch of 992 models out this year. -
I also picked up the Sunny Garden chore coat, the denim is very nice! I think they're going to make some late 1800's inspired pairs out of it this year.

Crap photos but I wore my pair yesterday playing golf at the oldest golf course in Texas (1899). Normally wouldn’t wear jeans on the course, but this is a casual 9 hole walking only muni course, no dress code and only $18. A few friends and I play here every month or so. Fun way to spend an afternoon.

Did Warehouse recently add size 44 to their shirting? Previously their flannels would only be listed up to size 42 / 17 which they notated as XL, however checking their website today I see 44 listed. Sadly no size chart listed on the website to confirm and I don't see the size listed with any other shops. I've always really liked their flannels but they were about a size too small, perhaps they finally bumped them up.
