Thanks Doc, I did a quick search of Marvin's for 1942 jeans and they were all more standard war era pairs, no cinches to be found. Will keep y'all posted if I find out any more information on these.

@Dr_Heech do you have a list of what historically separates the 42 model from other jeans at the time? Off the top of my head, I've only seen Warehouse reproduce a 42 model and it looked more like a standard war era pair but with a crotch rivet and denim pocket bags (no cinch as well).

@Vulcan There have been various dubious claims about RMC over the years: from poor quality (especially in relation to the hyper-inflated western pricing), leading vintage dealers on and photographing their pieces without permission / purchase (after they said they would be buying them) and then going on to reproduce said pieces with no attribution. That’s just a few things I’ve heard over the years, so I’d rather just not support them personally. I still have a Ballpark sweat I like that’s holding up just fine and one of the sea island cotton tees that’s alright. But I’ve sold or donated everything else that I had from them.

@mlwdp Thermals can definitely be difficult, my FW ones fresh out of the wash feel a little tight but stretch very quickly. I’ve been looking for the honeycomb knit ones like these, wanted to avoid RMC and the Stevenson wool ones are too warm. Might grab the grey and natural in size 4.

@mlwdp been in the market for some thermals, might give these a shot. What do you think of it so far?

@mstax I'm a big fan of 30's models, I've never had any issues with the cinch feeling like it's in the way. I don't tend to wear a belt with this pair, but I don't think ti would be much of a problem if you wanted to use one.

@MJF9 I'd say that the WW2 denim faded a little more quickly by comparison, but looking back I did take a slightly different approach with washing both pairs. With the WW2 I was washing at least once a month, while with the 37s I waited a bit longer initially (washed every few months) and now I'm washing about once a month. I can't speak to the standard denim actually, as I haven't put time into a pair yet. Might give the 661XX some more time though to see how they break in. I'll try and take some comparison photos of the WW2 and 37s this weekend.

601XX-C after another wash, a year of wear into them now. Not sure how they manage to do it, but I still don't have any loose threads. Cool seeing the variation between the right and left side outseam stitches, the right side (left in these photos) being chainstitched and a bit thicker than the other.

No worries Doc, totally understand. I'm sure this won't be our last trip! We'll actually be taking a day tour of the Cotswolds on the 28th, something the Mrs. has always wanted to do. I think someone just wanted a free New Year's trip to Paris.

I often wonder what happened to a lot of old time posters, probably just lost interest in posting. Officially looking for recommendations for London and Paris, staying in Shoreditch December 26th - 30th, Paris from the 30th - 4th before coming back for our flight on the 5th. Museums, sights, shops, coffee, restaurants, pubs, etc. Not looking for anything super fancy, I prefer to try and experience places like the locals when I can. I know it's a busy time of year but if anyone wants to grab a pint or a coffee let me know!

I've always considered the Lot 444, I remember I balked at the shipping price when I had contacted Attractions about ordering before. The Lot 444 are horsehide and the Lot 269 are steer hide.

@mstax yeah this isn’t my usual cup of tea, but seeing some photos of the original that inspired it put me over the edge. And I wanted to try an afterhood, might as well be Freewheelers!

Double-face afterhood, quite a beefy hoodie. This is even heavier than the heavyweight material since it is double-faced throughout. Seiichiro weighed two of them in the same size (this one vs. heavy weight) and this one came up about half a pound heavier... Will probably take a week to hang dry after washing.

@willi It seems like in recent years Warehouse has stopped posting the catalogues online, no idea what the impetus for that is / was but here we are. Every now and then you'll see a retailer post preorders with images from the catalog (i.e. Take-Off Clothing), but I've haven't seen a full digital catalog available like we used to see in quite some time.

Small snippet from the Warehouse blog, looks like the WWII jeans will be ¥29,000. Not much to see but it at least confirms the model and an accompanying jacket.

Pocket sweat arrived. This is my first mid-weight sweat from FW, I like the two-tone slight variation around the edges.
