Does anyone here have the 16oz Black Kuroki work jacket from Oldblue? It looks amazing but I'd like to see some more pics, especially if it's a bit worn in.

I like the look of this jacket a lot too, but im not too keen on the back patch - Centre bottom looks off somehow.

Still would also like to see it worn in.

I thought I'd revive this thread with some pics from an old ebay auction I saved in my favorites, it's a genuine Levi's Big E One Pocket from the 40's, a real S0555VX. :D :D :D

It went for just over $2500, so obviously I didn't get it but when you see the condition of it you can see why it went for so much.

You can see all the photo's here, below is a selection, denim porn, fap away...

I own the Samurai Type 3 jacket. it is totally worth it. But you can't go wrong with SDA or Eternal either. You are already paying up to 300$ and more for their jeans, a jacket is much more work. Compared to the jeans prices, totally justified

Got my Samurai S0553XX today. Bought from Yuichi, the last size 44 Samurai had in their stock.
The one-wash treatment was pretty harsh to the leather patch. The denim looks fine though

fit pics to follow. fit is very snug. I can't believe Quoise is pulling of a size 42 :P;)

Does anyone have any info/opinions about japanese type 3's? I'm looking to get a Studio d'Artisan one on rakuten and am wondering if they worth the $300+ price tag. They sure look nice!

I'm also checking out Samurai and Eternal too...

Remember, when forking out $300 for a jean jacket, these things are going to last you years. I bought a 100 jacket at gap 5 years ago, and could still get another 5 at least out of it.

100% agree with B_F: my Samurai type III was absolutely worth the $400 I paid for it. If it's possible, I think Samurai denim may look even better on a jacket than it does on jeans. For me, the price was easier to justify than the price I've paid for any of my jeans.

From the top of my head I recall the original lining being horizontal and that the earlier Storm Rider-patches had both an R and MR on it. I think the change was some time during the '60s.

Anyway, there have been loads of talking about this in the thread so just do a little search in here and you'll probably get some answers or at least know who to ask further questions with a PM.

Good luck!

That's a very nice Type 2, however I can't see it anywhere on the Railcar website, or am I blind???

So I take it you're not going to be buying the Samurai 15th 25oz version then...or are you???

Should be up within the next few weeks I believe. They're mainly focusing on the release of their black over indigo jacket, but this is their higher tier option.

I am undecided. I am going to get this, and still need to get a winter jacket. I will possibly be picking that 25oz one up later on if they're still available.

Got my Studio D'Artisan DB-430 jacket recently, and it is awesome. I purchased it through Rakuten with no issues with customs or taxes at all. I was worried that it was going to be too big, but giving it a hot soak shrunk it down nicely. In comparison with my old Iron Heart 21oz jacket, it is definitely more rigid (and thinner of course). But I find that this one fits better because of the longer arm length. So far it seems worth the money. Can't wait to see how it looks after a few months!

I decided to get a size 38 medium. It did run a little large initially, but after the soak I'd say it fits like a size small. So I would definitely recommend to anyone interested to take into account shrinkage and presoak it in hot water.

P.S. Thanks for your help jonny! I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this one
