annoyingly one of the chrome Recon 'R3' hinge inserts fell off my R3 frames. it's nowhere to be found so i'm trying to find a suitable fix / hack. i've spoken to a couple of frame makers where I live, and also contacted Acronym - who in turn put me in touch with Made In The Light (MITL produced the SS19 Acronym frames) - and every time I get one of two answers: either I'm met with a puzzling look and a verbal response along the lines of "why does it matter, they still function" - valid, I guess. or told that the job is too specific and requires a bespoke press and trim mold. anyone on here have any info about who produced the frames (I know they were made in Japan, but don't know the company who produced them)? or any suggestions on how to approach fixing them? i was planning to ask a local silver smith if it's something they might be able to help with... i'm approaching the point where any additional effort trying to restore them feels futile (or at least too high an investment of time), but my obsessive attention to detail really would enjoy finding a solution.

that wouldn't surprise me... if anyone here got the DS-HD2 and doesn't get on with it, I will gladly take it off your hands.

thank you to @markdjr for another smooth and pleasant transaction. shipping USA >>> NL in 4 days is pretty impressive even without considering all the disruption at the moment.

I have the same finishing detail on mine (if you look closely it is professionally finished). if it was finished as per the the other internal edges it would possibly be too stiff? and slightly uncomfortable / awkward against the upper back and shoulders? I've worn mine (J84) on a few errand runs these last few days and I'm really happy with it. I was a little curious about the sizing but glad I stuck to my normal size; if I went down a size it would be too short. i'm mostly wearing it popped (?) and not zipped. the temp has been fluctuating between 10-20c here (!) and it's kept me comfortable in all of that whilst walking / casually cycling around. the pockets hold a phenomenal amount without it looking like your colostomy bag needs emptying. the TensionZip pocket entry is super useful when faffing around at the self checkouts and easy to close / access whilst on the bike. the collar sits nicely when the jacket isn't fully fastened - mine seems to sit closer to the body than the Mothersite pictures suggest (it looks like it's floating in at least one of the shots). and i love the hood... maybe the novelty will wear off, but it sits on my peanut head rather nice. marginal gains overall, but that's late stage capitalism life, right?

I clocked that too, but had assumed this was recorded prior to the J1A-GKTP drop (although that drop was a Sunday). He covers / says lots of similar stuff in the Corporate Lunch podcast which released before (but possibly recorded after) this. I don't recall a drop being mentioned in the CL interview, but I was listening after a few beers...

perhaps slightly off topic, but I thought this might be of interest to some here. linked to the Iowa fiasco are a super PAC advised by David Plouffe (UBER & Obama strategist) called ACRONYM. their spin off tech agency 'Shadow Inc.' supposedly built the app (that failed) to report the votes. if that nomenclature were a coincidence, the logo design... quite literally another ACRONYM. https://www.anotheracronym.org/ nothing be sacred.

sounds like it. what’s the sellers reputation and what else are they selling? eBay tend to side with the buyer in situations like this, so might be worth trusting your instincts and opening a case / requesting a refund...
