Warehouse

Warehouse can be confusing on the naming and knowing what fabrics are being used but I just took a look at the most recent line sheet and it looks like the DD-1001 1947 uses the no.7 x no.7 13.5oz tri-state US cotton and the 1001XX(1000XX) 1947 uses 7.5 x 7.5 pink selvedge denim which sounds like it should be the DSB. I'm not sure if that was different previously though.

Very long time no post, but loving these cinch back 1003XXs a lot! Excuse the lifted shirt but just wanted to show the rise. Closest fit I’ve found to my old Warehouse Montgomery Ward 1939s from 2014 or so. These are a 1941ish. Very pleased. Size 38". Shrank down a good inch and a half in the waist and a couple of inches in length. Still required a hem and chain stitch to 29”…

Looks good, @scooby! I have the same jacket. I have the matching jeans to my uncle who's worn nothing but 501's from the 50s to today. He loves them.

Don't be afraid to wash it with fabric softener. You're not going to hurt anything, but tumbled lightly after using liquid softener should soften that dry, crunchy texture a bit and leave the fabric feeling more pliable.

I hot wash and machine dry all of my denim with whatever detergent and/or fabric softener my wife buys

This jacket is still so new and hasn't really gotten dirty so I've just been washing it in my tub whenever Ive had a particularly sweaty day

And the repair work. I paid $250 for these small repairs - along with a hem and chainstich hahahaha.

And it took about four visits to Denim Doctors and about 4 weeks instead of the 3-4 days that I was quoted.

@Alec Leamas did I sell you a pair of Clutch x Warehouse limited editions back in 2019 or so? I think I sold them to someone on here. I was based in NYC at the time if that rings a bell. Did you ever put any significant wear on those if it was you?

@Alec Leamas I can see that. It has its’ place for sure. I’ve come around to - out of the repro’s I’ve put time into - that FW is the most rewarding denim. The thing is it takes a good bit more patience. I only wear my ‘51’s less these days because I feel like they are just my perfect pair of jeans in almost every way and I don’t want them to change much.

That's a pretty speedy delivery!

Looks the right size and a good fit - shoulders look comfortable and the arms the right length, based on the pictures but you'll know how it feels. There may be some shrink left in the denim if you've only washed it once but you could control that by washing in future at lower temps and avoiding the dryer.  IThe fit should only get better as it relaxes and moulds to you.  I'm sure you know all this - just commenting as you asked.

How is it with the top button fastened?  For jackets that are snugger in the lower section, fastening one or two buttons and leaving the rest open can look good...

Yeah, super fast any time I've ordered from them.

For sure looks better, ha. Dunno why I didn't try that first. I did have to cuff the sleeve as these are pretty long and my arms are pretty short. Having never worn a denim jacket, I'm surprised at how much give these pleats have on the chest. Much more freedom of movement than I anticipated, honestly.

Looks good on ya! Nice short boxy fit which I think looks best for denim jackets. I have the opposite problem where I want my jackets short (less than 24 inches ideally) but the sleeves end up being too short if I try to size based on back length.

Those of us who grabbed the WW2 cowboy jeans (WH1002) back when they came out….did you take your regular Warehouse size? I’m looking at you @scooby, @shredwin_206 given the recent passing on of the jeans post between you both!

My earlier proclamations about “no more jeans until WOMCON” are teetering on a precarious edge, as I knew they probably would! 🙄

A Yahoo Auctions item? Or did they re-release?

Would love to try a pair of Warehouse denim but it looks like its out of stock everywhere on most Japanese websites I am aware of. Is there an imminent restock coming soon I should hold off for or could a pair of Denime (looking at the 54 or 47 pair on Bears) substitute well in the meantime?

It’s tricky with Warehouse as they have no publicised production schedule to speak of. Most retailers will tell you when asked “it arrives when it arrives”. That said, they do seem to be re-releasing the dead stock blue series bit by bit. The Denime 220XX 47 or 54 would substitute very well, as to all intents and purposes they are just warehouse jeans really!
