  1. Spent a week in Sardinia with SP29K-M. Hot and humid. Also worn them elsewhere but figured scorching Mediterranean weather was the real test. They're... OK. Certainly as well ventilated as cargo shorts are likely to ever be, and despite being black I never felt they were warm or otherwise problematic. The length is certainly not too short; I'd feel weird wearing anything below my kneecaps in this kind of weather. But put anything heavy in the pocket and it peeks out through the leg opening which is... not a great look. The flimsy pocket material has held up well despite looking super fragile. Sharp keys etc have not messed anything up for me yet. The belt fly works, but offers no real advantage over a regular fly. The little loop to put the strap through is a bit stupid since it's hard to tighten through that loop (I feel like I'll tear it off?), so I end up taking the strap out, tightening, and then often leaving the strap hanging more in the front. Threading it back through the loop feels like letting a mediocre design dictate my behavior. The material is very easy to brush or wash off if you spill food or whatever, and remarkably they didn't pick up any smell over a full week of intense groin sweat. But not sure how it'd feel in longer pants, definitely feels like something primarily for shorts. Are they worth the cost? Unless you desperately need this exact pocket configuration, I think not. I don't really regret buying them but could live without them. Probably using my veilance stuff more for the rest of the summer, but keeping these in rotation.

  2. About a year and and some change on this jacket. Did a second soak, it's getting noticeably lighter, doing overdyed things. I think I'll put a couple more months on this because I'm starting to see signs of needing repairs on parts of the fades.

  3. Honestly would rather see overstock, even if it were without sales, than see pieces getting scalped. Errolson seems to struggle with finding a balance, though opening pre-orders would probably be a good way to dial in the right quantity for not only the item itself but the sizes. Small stock always seems to disappear quickly and then XL will sit for a year or more. Of course I'm just saying this because I want my chances for the upcoming J36-WS to be as high as possible when I know it's going to be a sought-after jacket and competition to cop will be intense

  4. Agreed having more is better than having less. I believe that peak hype passed maybe 6+ years ago. Techwear was more popular as a genre then ever, Nike Collabs bringing it more mainstream, and the price point being slightly less made it so scalping was still profitable. Much easier to sell $1,000 jackets for $1,500 then it is for $1,500 to $2,000+. Errolson has to know what previous iterations are popular and what aren't. I know it's all about continuous evolution, but when you have classic runs that you want to reup that are known to sell out like J36, J28, J72 please do make more. They print money.

  8. i was under the impression that acr struck new contracts with stockists within the last couple of seasons. at least in nyc, acr is stocked by atelier, hotoveli, kith, hbx, and potentially dsm for aw24. i've heard from staff at different nyc stores that antithesis is a distributor, and has to adhere to stricter pricing structure. idk how true any of this is since i don't work in fashion retail. the split between retailer and mothersite items has become very clear in the past couple of seasons. big runs of popular pieces are made in china from crowd-pleaser materials (gt, dryskin, cotton). it also seems like there are far more web retailers carrying acr than 5 years ago. for these reasons, the amount of discounts and sales doesn't seem unsanctioned or sketchy; i'd be surprised to hear that the strategy right now is cutting off retailers for trying to sell all their "designated retailer" runs at a time when the label is obviously expanding. the ms exclusives and experimental items will carry forward the no-sale ethos while the mass-produced retail items can go on sale with other designer labels. maybe ppl know something i don't though. in which case, please share, don't be coy.

  10. One of 3 current wearers, my 'not that special' 1930 Lee's , bought in 2008. Worn for odd jobs and gardening. Looking to put aside soon and replace with something new or unwashed. Love the hardware on Lee's, as it is exactly that - hard wear, not like lvc for example. But l prefer the rivets on my 1930's Lee jacket (last photo), which are more accurate being cut at the ends, rather than the jean rivets which are different. Not sure how they're finished actually.

  11. I have always washed my jeans buttoned up so they don't get snagged on other jeans. I usually wash a few of my jeans together, without any other clothes. I have not come across any problems.

  12. I always button my jeans before washing them, these days, to avoid the buttons catching on other clothes and ripping them. Never had any issues with wearing through the rest of the fly.

  13. Not clothing related but thought I’d post this to see if you internet sleuths can use your Google-fu skills to find the answer. I’m a baseball fan and play a lot of it with my son who’s in a 10U league. Anyway, I currently own 2 Rawlings Heart of the Hide gloves which are very good leather quality. Rawlings also sells a Pro Preferred glove which uses Kip leather. As such, I really enjoy the craftsmanship that goes into baseball gloves as well as the break in process. Wilson sells the A2000 and the A2K, both of which are similar to Rawlings HoH and Pro Preferred models. I’m bringing up the Wilson A2K glove because it’s made in Japan. Unfortunately, I can’t find any info on where in Japan they’re made and by whom. It’s like some trade secret that the Japanese seem to use frequently when manufacturing items for other companies. I’ve searched high and low and can’t find anything on who makes the A2K. I could reach out to Wilson directly but I doubt they’d give me specifics. Do any of you know who the manufacturer might be? Perhaps an established Japanese glove maker like Mizuno?

  14. I also heard about capped quantities. It's pretty credible as the preorder for SS24 is ongoing. Some retailers seems to cut themselves this spring as many items from last few seasons are sitting (as intended). In this season the only item not on sale everywhere was J105, which was not stocked by many retailers. I guess the equilibrium was reached. They just follow this logic to help themselves and retailers.

  23. One of 3 current wearers atm, my Warehouse 1915 belt loop model after its second machine wash (first was to get most of the shrink out) and they have shrunk a little more as l've now lost the turn-up. Mostly used for daily lounging. They were put aside since May as l only (mostly) wear jeans from October to May anyway, the rest of the year l wear shorts and a vest top because l'm so damn hot all the time

  26. Just this year I’ve seen more than one retailer put acr on deep discount (over 50% off). Thought there was a policy against that? Anyone know if something has changed? Are we in a new era of acr sales at retail?

These are mostly near waldport on the northern coast - unfortunately we shot a whole roll in big sur that didn’t come out at all, our fault using unknown & expired film lol. 31. Too early to tell given CR seems to be a fairly new fabric. From what I gathered, it's similar to VX21 except it has 2,000 tested Abrasion cycles more than the regular VX21 which is 500 cycles. Some thing along those lines but tl'dr is that CR has more abrasion resistance. I'm assuming any peeling would be consistent with previous XPAC.

  32. CR are some of the better looking 3a bags in a long time. Does anyone know if the laminate on this X-pac peels over time? Curious how the bags look outside of the studio lighting if anyone can show off theirs.

  40. Hey @aho, sorry, didn't visit this thread 2 weeks... yeah, although I had in my life many professions, but diving career was the best part. commercial diving was just only 3 years, than I was disqualified due to my health results. Very strong limits. My problem high cholesterol. Commercial diving is task diving under safety protocol. And life in shifts which took weeks was only dive, solve task, decompression, eat, sleep... More fun was before, when I was just only dive instructor, after courses of TechDiving and commercial diving and at the end of career I was years technical diving instructor. I met so many great people around diving. Lucky part of life. Now I am recreational diver and I enjoy it as much as possible.... Quality of my Submariner is amazing. During the time they were many times in Rolex servis for to maintenance and change of seals. When they were new they did + 2 minutes each month. After many services still they do +2 minutes in each month and effort of watch mechanics was for nothing. And this is my certainty that the world is not perfect. In imperfection is beauty of humen creation
