Shrinking-

After my DSB 1942 in 33 were too tight in 33, I got them in 36.
After a hot soak and now two cold washes they fit quite well everywhere except for the waist, where they are too wide with still 94cm or so instead of my normal ca. 90cm.

Would you rather wash at 40, 50 or 60C to shrink them more?
I normally never use the drier but might do so in this case.
Any experiences/suggestions?

I have a DSB x Hinoya pair in a size 36 that is a bit too big in the waist as well. I normally do a machine wash/dry and the  pair went from about 95 cm to 91 cm in the waist, but it does stretch rather easily. I'm used to Warehouse pairs continuously shrinking over time, so I hope these continue to shrink. I'll probably wash this pair tomorrow afternoon, I can provide before and after measurements once dried.

@indigoeagle Hey, after a machine wash/dry, I got the following shrinkage:

           Pre-Wash/Post-Wash

Waist: 38"/35.75"

Thigh: 13.75"/13.5"

Inseam: 32"/30.5"

Leg Opening: 9.25"/8.75"

Pretty glad that the waist and inseam shrunk the way they did, they were feeling way too big on me. The rest of the leg has a nicer silhouette now as well.

Quite a bit. Good to hear that. Thanks

Especially in the waist.
And since that is too wide for me now, I don't think, that it will stretch back once it's shrunk.

I got these off Mercari brand new for a good deal.  I just picked the arcs and gave them a wash - I'm excited to start wearing them!

The nice 25th anniversary 1946 model.

Really tempted by these Hinoya exclusive 1941 DSB model despite owning the CSF 1941 model already. I need another pair of bucklebacks like l need a hole in the head. Luckily l'm a bit skint atm and when l do finally get round to having a bit of disposable income, they will probably be sold out in my size 😁

Dr., I saw them as well and had to get a pair. I too need another pair of buckle backs like a hole in the head!

What size did you end up ordering Grant? Looking at the pics, that size 31 only has three fly buttons whereas an original would have had four plus the waistband button. How many has yours?

I'm pretty sure most warehouse jeans 31 and under have 3 fly buttons.

Thanks for that, yes that's my understanding up until now but l wanted to be 100% sure as a ex-Lvc fan l still have nightmares of button fly inaccuracies compared to originals 😂

Random question but do you remove the 25 tag off?

I ordered sz 33. When they arrive I'll check how the number of fly buttons.

That's fine don't worry. Saw a pair of sz 32's on their site and they had four fly buttons. Won't be buying them anyway certainly not at 260 quid plus whatever import taxes etc as well (l thought originally they were 200ish). Got stung pretty harsh on my last imported denim with import duties.

They look great and all but l will have to wait until your forthcoming buckleback photo-bomb and live vicariously through you instead mate.

A cool pair.
Of the elusive period 40-42 (or 41-42?) with that reversed yoke.

A little slimmer than the 37 it seems.

What denim is your CSF 41 made of?

The 1942 also has only three, even in 36.
Would that be analogue to the jacket with four instead of a five?
But the 44s and 45 models have five, no?
Perhaps only for that model.

Thanks but alas l am not copping.

With the Reverse yoke model it seems that only the year 1941 is used to describe it , not 1940-42. So a very brief experimental period for the manufacture of the 501 then?

I did try and find out years ago about the csf war denim but drew a blank. Maybe it's a secret?

Edit. Also looking at your above query, traditionally levis 501 had 3 button fly plus waistband button until c.1936, when they gained an fourth fly button.
