Dont ask me why but I was bored and decided to look at my SC47's a little more closely. I pulled out the pocket bags and to my surprise they were selvage. Now that I think of it I think someone mentioned this a while back. Anyhow took some pics just for the heck of it.

Slowly but surely....Sugarcane 1966 at 4 months (a little under 3 months actual wear)...variations on the same shot with a standard point and shoot:

starting to develop the combs

Little roping as of yet...Although I know I haven't gotten all of the shrinkage out yet, I"ll probably soak in a week or so...Expecting more roping after that

And the only real "fit pic" I have of them taken about a month in (sparse wear) and they have loosened up considerably since then hence my looser whiskering, etc.

cheap, how goes your pair? I don't have the luxury (or skill) to skate in mine so yours are probably exponentially better unless you haven't taken off those evisu ;)

^The denim is actually really comfortable...We tend to overlook some of the basic repro models here on sufu in favor of their blends (Okinawa, etc.) when it comes to Sugarcane, but the denim is actually good stuff! The 1966 in particular is one of the hairier in my current rotation even after 4+ months and I've dedicated myself to breaking in this pair before even tempting myself with my Roy's and Warehouse 1001XX (which are going to arrive at my doorstep later this week)...

I have pair of sc2009. I'll take a picture for you when i have time. The fabric is different. it's 11oz, feels a bit thicker tho... (thickness has nothing to do with weight) Texture is similar to 1947s

Mister Freedom Sugar Cane 7161 at somewhere around 6-8 months.

They started as one wash, had an initial cold soak, and then two hot soapy soaks since. Photos were taken outdoors, under overcast skies. Color is accurate.

owners of 66s: in your estimation, how much shrinkage can i expect in the waist if i give them a couple boiling hot soaks, along with a little agitation in the washer? i had a pair a few months back but didn't keep them and am now considering a pair in a larger size. i'd like a 38 waist to shrink to 35.5. within reason?

The 34's I have maybe shrink 2" when hot soaked then stretch back out really quickly. I'd honestly not expect them to shrink more than 2" in the waist and hold much of it. They are really stretchy denim.
