Just got my 50's! A nice pair that probably will be better for the summer than my 16.5oz Japan Blues. Will post fit pic tomorrow when they've dried after the first wash.

I got TCB today too! 60s.

The denim is fantastic. I can see why it's become so popular around here. It also feels much lighter than 13oz, perfect summer jeans. The fit in top block is great for me. Glad I didn't size down.

Fit pics of the TCB 50's, really love the fabric after the first wash, some nice nep and the feeling is just great!

Is this the 50s or the 50s slim? Fit looks really good on you

Thanks, it is the regular 50's, the angle makes them look a little slimmer and they're not as wide as I thought. Awesome jeans.

@Niro Did the waist expand after wearing it? What's the measurement like?

I only tried it on once, but there is definitely stretch in these. I could squat with little resistance.

Measurement of what?

Comes to a certain point maybe after the 5th wash that it wont stretch no more

Thanks a lot. Man that back rise is low.  Does anyone have the raw back rise measurement for a size 32 - 60's?

I wouldn't pay too much attention to raw measurements. Inoues jeans, I think, are best when washed frequently and tumble dried. Anytime people see raw measurements there is more confusion when (hopefully) the jeans will be washed enough to make the raw measurements useless. And the back rise shrinks quite minimally.

Go 33. Especially in comparison to my 50s jeans I'm glad I sized up.

Tried on the tcb 505 today. 36 was perfect. Lovely fabric too...thinking of getting it for the dwc and selling my fc 1108ex... the zipper is a turn off, but the cut is great.

It's a repro of the late 60s 505 so it must have the talon zipper. Must get a pair too sometimes, always handy to have one pair of slim-ish jeans. It'll be in a while because now that I've lost some timber I can finally fit comfortably in the Porkys 66 and they're showing some very interesting fading potential  although fabric wise they completely lack the feel of a 66 repro. Quite possibly in a couple months I'll be again too fat for them though :D

And i sold the fc and told sascha to put the tcb away. Very stoked, the fit is really perfect for me. Comfy legs and nice taper.

Look forward to see what you'll do with them! Also great as there's still not many pics of faded preshrunk jeans.

Yes, i look very forward to them. Havent found a faded picture yet, do you have one?

If you dig through the tcb blog and search for `preshrunk` you'll find one faded pair, but it's way too washed, doesn't show the potential at all imo.

One of Inoue s'è bet friends own a industrial washing facility and I'm lead to think that the faded pair has been through industrial washing cycles.

Here's an interesting comparo between a pair of nos 505 and the preshrunk jeans. It seems both the original and the tcb sport a different fabric for the waistband.

small update on my 50s jacket ... mostly used to layer this year as most of my jeans are still dark and i am self-conscious of my canadian tux becoming too austere. it's also the graveyard of unfinished embroidery -- every single thing i've started on it i have abandoned hahah. anyway, moderate amount of wear over the last 2.5 years, washed pretty often. sorry they are a bit blurry, wanted to keep iso down so had to go real low on everything else.

Looks similar to mine, and I get the self-conscious thing with the Canadian tuxedo. The first day of work in LA I wore the tux and was immediately known for it from that point on, It quickly made me realize I was no longer in Portland...

@MasonAlexander thanks! i won't be in squamish much till end of august, but ill be living there again  afterwards--you're always welcome to come through!

@Hendsch lol that's a tough thing to have stick with you... at least in LA I imagine you aren't forced to pull out the tux 8 months of the year like in portland!

@tigerstrom just came across your old posts from 2015 when you got the 505. Do you have evo pictures or did the ooe come inbetween? I hope i can pick up my pair today, very excited for them. The small roping on the hem was so excellent i dont dare hemming them.

With mister Volvo being swamped with work I'll share the workload of the organizing the tour.

To our great delight we've successfully talked Inoue-san into another SUFUxTCB adventure. Following the TCB 50's contest, the introduction of the ranchman shirt and the upcoming TCB 20's contest in 2018, we're now also doing a world tour - starring a prototype of the very jean we will rock in the next TCB contest. Inoue and his crew is basing the jeans off of a vintage pair of Levi's from the 1920's he got a hold of back in april and will also rock a completely new denim.

For the tour we'll have a size 32 for our disposal. Measurements will hopefully be sorted out.

We're kicking off the tour at TCB's very own factory in Kurashiki where I will pick up the jeans during the last week of july.

The current roster of TCB rockstars:
      Bobbo (Sweden)
      Paul T (UK)
      Red Dragon (Indonesia)
      NYC surfer (USA)
      JaredLee (USA)
      Ooms (Indonesia)
      Foxy (Germany/Russia)
      Ironhorse (Taiwan)
      Articulate (USA)
      Jigsaw (Indonesia)
      Holio Cornolio (UK)
      Mandel9000 (NOR)

      Subs:
      Reverendglasseye
      Louisbosco
      FeloniusMonk

The roster is full for now, although it won't hurt having a few subs!

The original and what we're looking forward to:
