  2. So after waiting @ 15 years for Nike to re-release the original Air Max 1 in the original colourway I instantly copped them on release. (After boring the wife about them for years I had to) I actually had a pair stashed in a box for a rainy day but took them out around 8 years ago and the suede had literally rotted off.... Anyway , when they arrived loved them but could have swore they had a red section on the front grip...blamed it on memory fade. Turns out they did on the pair released a few weeks later! Cue 2nd pair purchased in a month.

  3. Ive just stuck a new roof on the wood shed before i fill it with logs for the winter.. ..old roof ..peeled the felt off ..new ply roof ..i can't wrap xmas prezzies.. apparently? but i seem to be incredibly good at neatly wrapping a pitched roof with lots of angles? ..maybe it's one of those wanker things that men do.. convincing women that only they can multitask whereas we can't because we're just useless men.. therefore it makes more sense that you do the bulk of the household chores because you can do them all at once in a tenth of the time.. if i was to do them all singularly it would take me all weekend!? ..men eh?, i've got our number I had enough felt to do the shed too ..the facias were rotten but it was the Sheffield half marathon today so our road was closed to cars.. .. zip-tied one of the facias to the bike ..and rode to work.. past this sweet van ..made 4 new'uns and rode back home

  6. Adding SM1-AM. Second owner though the previous one never wore it. Due to the delicate nature of the fabric I’m grading it about 8/10 as I’ve barely ever used it myself. Asking for $200 USD F&F over PayPal. Shipping is free in the US but I am willing to ship overseas as well! SM1-AM sold!

  15. Nearly there.. The clover is sprouting ..i used slate to cover up the peagravel/drainage behind the oak Like a lot of houses in Sheffield they're built on a hill so the weight of the land above is pushing my outside wonky toilet away from the wall ...the floor stays where it is but the further up you go.. the more lean you have, i wanted to keep the door square and parallel so it opened/closed properly so i tapered the frame from this ..to this .. i'm keeping my bike in there now i've put a new ceiling up and got rid of the toilet, i've kept some airflow top and bottom so it doesn't get damp and got creative with the tapered lintel reclaimed brass fittings Beehive escutcheon ..this was falling down in April ..boxed in the new tap (pipe from the cistern feed) and stuffed if full of sheeps wool so hopefully it doesn't freeze/burst pipe again.. .. finally got those flip down seats fitted after a 22yr hiatus ..used some poppy green oak .. brass cabin hooks to hold the bin storage lids open ..and some old carabinars which i've attached to a lifting eye with cord.. so when you open the lid and attach to the cabin hook.. your bin lid opens too ..JMC and we all lived happily ever after...

Short trip to Warsaw recently The building formerly known as the Joseph Stalin's Palace of Culture and Science, which was a ‘gift’ from the Russians in the 50s A few buildings around Warsaw Old Town Square which was flattened in WW2 and rebuilt after the war to resemble pre-war Warsaw (what a tongue twister you say!) 22. Really happy with how these 0105 fit post wash. They were a struggle to button yesterday but loosened up nicely. The belt is superfluous here. Not super wide, but a really nice pair of jeans.

  23. I’m thinking more why it seems to be (primarily) Freewheelers garments that are marked up to such an extent. I don’t see the same action on Warehouse, Sugar Cane etc.
    1 point
  24. Nope, pretty much every overseas retailer is charging crazy prices for FW.
    1 point
  25. I’m sure someone will tell me, but is there any shop outside Japan that sells Freewheelers for less than crazy prices? Seems the only smart thing to do is try the stuff on (for those that need to) and then buy from Japan - no?

  26. There was one other shop carrying FW that went under, HwyBlues in New Orleans. They had a small run of inventory but announced that they were closing down within the first year of opening or so. No other ones that I know of outside of Brogue.

  27. Hadn't heard of Brogue. They seem to carry a good selection of less-seen brands, and they're just an hour or so from me—looking forward, now, to checking them out next time I'm in the area but, meanwhile, that makes me realize: I didn't know that Freewheelers had any US stockists. Are there others that have flown under my radar? I'm surprised they don't run into issues with the union tags (but I guess they're not that visible, and don't show up in any sort of marketing)

  28. @CSL depending on what size you are, Brogue (US based Freewheelers stockist) still has a 16. Brogue: FW Skagit I’ve ordered a few FW pieces from them. Fast shipping; I can recommend.

  29. @CharlieMike here are the pre/post wash measurements for my pair of 221. I’m not entirely certain of the water temp, but 40C would be in the ballpark. Raw/Washed - InchesWaist: 17/16Rear Rise: 15.5/15Front Rise: 12/11Thigh: 12.25/11.25Knee: 9.5/9Hem: 8.25/7.75Inseam: 34/32

  30. Been a minute since I've been on here... Had to rebuy one of my favorite pairs of jeans as they were literally starting to fall apart after three years of on and off use. Don't really see myself getting any other kind of jeans., these are a perfect fit for me and material quality is unmatched. IH-777-XHS

  33. Usually I don't do this but I wanted some proper pre-soak pictures so I am wearing them raw right now. Honestly, that would be a good looking post-soak fit so I have to see how I deal with the shrinkage. The 12.5 oz denim is very comfortable.

  34. Mepse claims these are based on a vintage pair he owns (?) and becauseI don't own one I can only judge based on other brands I handled. The jeans are smaller than advertized so this was a small surprise and I saw others claiming a lot of shrinkage on this denim, it will be interesting to see how they will fit after a soak. Right now I have a bit space in the waist but the 0.5" more would have been nice Thighs are also off by 0.5" and so is the inseam. All in all inside the accepted variation I think. 36x34 raw Waist: 35" Front rise: 11.75" Back rise: 16.25" Thighs: 13" Knee: 9.8" Leg opening: 8.5" Inseam: 33.375" The construction of the jeans is sound and does look clean. The tab is sewn crooked on purpose. On the left back pocket you see that the stitching at the bottom is not completely straight at the left edge but it looks nice this way. The placket is very long in comparison to the front rise in general which could look goofy. We will see. The back pockets look quite small, I have to test how well they will contain a wallet or so. Rivets and buttons are generic (blank or "World Jeans International") but I think this should be accepted with a small brand that is just about to really start. The red tab is branded but doesn't look like rayon or so...it looks/feels a bit cheap. Back of the top button is stamped with a "6". The chainstitch at the hem looks nice and I think will lead to good roping. The double chainstitch on the waist however looks somehow off. Quite thin threads are used and the SPI looks quite low. This is somehow my biggest disappointment but maybe it won't have any major effect. All other stitching looks good from what I could see. The belt loops are on the thin side, feature a two-tone stitching and are not raised. Belt loops from other brands feel/look better to me. The pocket bag material is a bit flimsy and the pocket bags aren't the biggest. But they are accessible. The denim is really interesting. It should be a 12.5oz denim and it does feel thinner which I really like. The denim is darker and more irregular than what other brands usually use for their 60s models. The denim is from Okayama, Mepse didn't disclose the mill (or he doesn't know or he didn't understand). I really look forward to see it evolving. Which important parts did I miss?

  37. current rotation Thrifted apc new standards from early 2020... they had some bad marbling that washed out with a lot of washes... the fit is actually pretty nice... I usually just use these for hiking with the dog and working in the yard. Warehouse 800xx from Ebay from spring 2020... the fit is really nice, but I have to repair some of the stitching after every wash... the denim has a little too much texture for my liking... I wish they would have washed out more... I babied them when they were new but now treat them as a nicer pair of beaters. Lee 101 70s riders from fall 2020... These were always too big... lots of dog walks and yard work... many washes and and trips through the dryer... I like the color they faded to Levi's 551tm Z cotton/hemp from 2020... always beaters and washed a lot... sometimes after every wear if they got dirty enough Freewheelers 601xxc from 2022 ... still mostly babying these... I should stop so I can catch up to Shredwin's pair Since it's been so hot I'm going like 3-5 days between washing them, a little longer with the 37s
