Yes Double 0 -- still on the gin.  Plymouth is my favorite.  This thread brought an (inebriated) chuckle.

Size down craze: Only at first because the shop told me, 'don't worry, they'll stretch'.
Slept in jeans: Only after too much gin
Diors: No, but I must add these to the collection
Fancy wallet: Yes, my old friend recently asked, 'what the fuck is that?'
Engineer boots: Guilty
Ocean wash:  Only my denim Speedo
Resolute washing / fit having previously not:  I'm resolute about most everything
Never washing:  Only while traversing Antarctica in some Iron Hearts
Coffee wash:  Only to make the brown streaks look intentional
Joined a contest:  Yes, including this one
Worn denim while raw:  Yes, scraped knee and left pants on
Paid for an expensive repair:  Buy them too baggy and have too many to wear them out
Wallet jewelry:  Only a small medallion that hurt my butt
Numerous pairs of very expensive boots: Guilty
Numerous pairs of identical jeans:  No jeans are identical since I measure precisely
Numerous fancy leather belts: Only one and it's a little too fancy for me
Jacket suitable for the Arctic:  Yes, an Eddie Bauer puffy jacket from 1979
Unreadable Japanese language magazines: Not yet
Dressed like a sailor:  Never all at once
Dressed like a miner: Not exactly though I use an ash-based facial cream
Dressed like an urban lumberjack: Not a good look with my sailor hat and miner knee pads
Dressed like a railway worker:  Hickory stripes from head to toe
Stacked: 43" chest
Starch: Every morning
Fancy socks: Agree with Broark: "Yes, and they suck"
Handmade English shoes: If Edward Greens are handmade
Whites Semi Dress: Never with MF sailor outfit
£2000 leather jacket: Yes, looks stunning in the closet
Numerous repro denim jackets all from same era: Um, yeah
Bought jeans nobody else owned: Yes, I'm older than everyone here.  Levi's from 1967.  Well, mom bought em.

It’s funny, I still feel like one of the new guys here, and the peak SuFu era feels like way before my time…but in reality I guess I probably started posting closer to peak SuFu than to now. Time’s tricky like that

@mlwdp .. worn denim while raw? what was going on there :D

@julian-wolf .. the 'sleeping in jeans' thing was to stretch them out..ie- get a couple of buttons fastened, maybe on day 2 fasten button 3 and don't take them off till you can get the top button fastened

If i remember rightly the coffee wash thing was around the time certain threads were obsessed with natural dying techniques, persimmon, mud, grass and such.

@smoothsailor they were MiJ Hedi Slimane era

What was that early denim documentary called? not the one Paul T was annoyed about.. it was pre-kickstarter.. you had to buy it on DVD, they interviewed ring x ring in silhouette, to protect his identity like a crime victim.. :D

Did anyone here buy it? i almost did but UK shipping costs ruled it out.

Funny seeing the documentaries mentioned here, last night I was watching Weaving Shibusa, I bought it from Vimeo when it came out back in 2018 I think, and watched it once, and then kind of forgot about it. It's much more interesting to me the second time around since I have a far greater interest in vintage-style denim than back then.

I have Warp And Weft on DVD, I'll probably watch that next - I think I only watched it once, around the time it came out. I actually talked to the guys making it on here and I was in the DC area around the time they were filming, so I barely missed actually being on the thing. It's probably for the best though, I would probably just cringe at myself circa 2011 on video 😅

I remember joining and it was just Dior/APC/Samurai threads with new replies. Dior was "should I get the 19 or the 21?" and APC was "can I size down 3 from my already sized down 2 from tagged waist?" and I think people just started saying yes to see how tight people would go. Was kinda smart since you could pick up once-worn APC jeans for a fraction of retail.

Edit: My first (circa 2009) username was "cents or non cents" but it was mapped to my Hotmail email. Forgot the password. Started up a new one in 2012, and Beatle transferred my rep to it.

Bizzarely... I joined 14 years ago on 23rd Feb.  I'd been tuning in for years before that.  Some cantankerous keyboard warrior behaviour iirc way back then.  Much better now.

I watched Weaving Shibusa in the Curzon in Soho.  Lewis from the Superdenim / McCoys London shops put on a screening.  Jam packed with London denim trendies.  Would be interested in watching it again.

February 2011 was a strong period for Superfuture indeed.

@Double 0 Soul you'll have to add 'Dressed as an ice cream vendor' to the list 😁 although that seems to be a more 2020's sufu thing.

I think there was a PoW trend too, whether it was items with Prisoner of War abbreviations or those black and white/brown and white striped 20's/30's prisoner outfits. Also remember a trend where everything had an anchor on it, from watch caps to jackets, although could've dreamt that last one (?)
