Has your late 40s softened up much? That texas cotton is still looking pretty crunchy

A little bit, I've only worn these about a month and a half so it's still pretty early, but they're not stiff/crunchy so much as they have the general heft/fuzzy feeling of fairly new unsanforized denim, qualities that give way to a soft coziness over time.

I'm kind of intending for these to be my summer/warm weather jeans, like my Warehouse 1001xx had been for the last few years. I found the WH Banner denim to be the best summer denim I've ever worn, by far, even better than the much-lauded Full Count 13.7 oz denim. If this TCB denim ends up close to that same feel I'll be happy.

^ Fully support that plan!

Sort of lamenting that my Tender stuff isn’t getting enough love these days. For me it’s more a winter brand as I’m all knits and jackets and jeans. Haven’t found shirts that suit me, but that might change once I can try stuff on.

To all.

Jealous of you who can wear denim during these temps, especially here in the UK.

I have hardly worn any denim since May and will probably hardly wear any until September/October time when the daytime temps become more bearable. This has become a growing trend with me, just living in vest tops or t-shirts and shorts (none of it denim 😁) when the warmer months come and donning jeans more October until April time. I don't think  it's climate change, rather something that's just occurred since entering my 50's(?). So with this new parameter coupled with my worsening feet problems means my denim takes a lot longer to fade 😢

Luckily l probably have enough worn-in jeans to last a very long time. So more so living vicariously through you lot these days. Keep up the good work everyone!

It’s been hot as hell where I’m at too and in years past I would have soldiered on in denim but this year, no. I just…don’t need to be intentionally uncomfortable. My cares are gone ha. Mostly wearing cheap old shorts that have stuck in my closet for 10 years or more, but my Ues linen WW2 pair has gotten some time too.

Another trip around the sun this weekend. We had a one day reprieve from the heat so I took advantage. It’s mostly been too hot recently to wear pants or denim unless I absolutely have to do so at workIMG_3343.thumb.jpeg.120a7d903286081607bd64d2b3bd5ee4.jpeg

I’ve been feeling similar, but for me I think it’s less to do with the seasons and more to do with the jeans I’m wearing. Tender tops are really polarizing for me, in that they can either feel really fantastic or just sort of weird and out of place depending on how I style them, without a lot of middle ground. They feel best with wider jeans (and, frankly, bestest with Tender jeans), so wearing the slimmer Word of Mouth contest jeans most days has just meant that my Tender tops don’t see much use, which is a bummer. That said, becoming more cognizant of this sort of pattern was a big part of why I was interested in committing to the contest in the first place, so I can hardly complain: it’s already been a good learning experience.
