This contest will be judged by a crème de la crème of Sufu guys. We will announce them soon.

We still have open spots to join but a special person will join as well (the person above is the special person).

Anyone else doing the 50s cut? I'm settling on a size 32... the long rise and loose upper block seem right up my alley.

@frank, yes, I am planning on the 5150. Sizing up to 36 to get the desired dimensions in rise, thigh and leg opening. They might end up an inch too big in the waist, but I'll either belt it or have the waist taken in. The 36 looks like it should shrink down pretty close to my Leroys which is the ideal if we're going for repro dimensions. The 0105 fit isn't in sight for these cuts even with oversizing the waist.

Eyyyyyy this is exciting! Nice to see we're nearly there and glad to see @AlientoyWorkmachine had a change of plan! I was also wondering whether @volvo240thebest would join - given the Italian origin of these jeans and some of the history of organising contests I've read through on here I thought it had to happen!

An update from Simone on the 1942 model ... choices choices choices...

I would like to do the 42 this way:

• 411S/611 Fit
• No buckle back
• Crotch rivet
• Standard yoke
• Denim pocket bags (Ooe amoskeag fabric)
• no rivets on coin pocket
• WMJ Buttons
• No tacks on back pocket

Inspired by pair #24 in the Levis book.

I'll post another exciting update soon

Ughhhh....I think me too, despite saying I'd go straight '47s that sounds like a dream pair. Had a pair of WH 1003XX circa 2010 in that configuration (crotch rivet, denim pocket bags, no buckle) that I sold due to sizing issues. This will be a good revenge pair 14 years later. And also, you had me at "Ooe", let's be honest, it'll ease the pain from "cheating" on my Ooe's awaiting wear 😂

… to anyone inadvertently missed from the list - mia culpa, our apologies - we’re getting older, busier and more forgetful… please continue to join in along the journey...

So… how will it work?  Here's the outline...

• Each judge will pick their 1st, 2nd and 3^rd places 
• Each place will be worth points.  Points make prizes.
  • 1^st place = 4 points
  • 2^nd place = 2 points
  • 3^rd place = 1 point 
• There will be no sharing, no conferring between judges.  They will make their own choice, without influence.
• Maynard will be the lead judge.  He’ll consolidate all individual judge’s scores and total them up to give a grand total… and the winners!
• NB - we need to work through what we'll do if there is a tie for places (we have a little time to decide that 😉)
• Maynard will announce the 1st, 2nd and 3^rd places
