do you think hajime sizes the 40 as a large, the 42 as xl and the 38 like a medium?

I don't know mate, I usually fall into the large category when sizing most euro/us stuff. I am xl or even xxl with most Japanese made clothing. my bare chest size is 40,5 so 42 sounds like an appropriate tts sizing for a jacket, assuming that bit of needed space for layers.

i got 42 in the jeans jacket and i could have worn a 40 but the 42 does allow me some room for a vest or a layering piece.  i did shrink the shit out of the 42 for maximum shrinkage in the length and in the arm sleeves.  whatever...it's not the end of the world, it's still a super nice jacket from an unique company.

First I thought "oh no my wallet" but both duck vest and coat are out of stock in my size, then I was sad.

Well, the chore coat is still available in 38 on the site if you change your mind. I'm not going to buy anything either, think a 36 would fit me better!

great price on the foreman vest. FYI it runs kind of big. I am a generally a medium and I wear size 36 in the vest.

After picking up some vintage '50s military chinos in a 32 earlier this week, I took the plunge on those TCB Seaman's Trousers in 32. Surely they're at least an inch too big in the waist, but raise 'em high, cinch 'em tight and hang 'em loose. 

 

I'm looking forward to these.

Haha sorry mate! And like Goodrain said, the TCB gear runs a little big, I wear a 38 in the chore coat and am usually wearing 40/42 in Japanese gear.

are you able to button the very top button?  i can't do it, it's too tight around my neck.  too bad since i always like to button the very top button of all my jackets.

Washed my 50's jacket recently, been wearing it a ton!
So glad I got a custom size one from Inoue san, I get a lot of compliments on the jacket.

Awesome. Also, I think I never fully realized how inexpensive TCB really is. Chore coats and vests have been tempting me for quite some time, both duck and hickory, gonna have to make some decisions soon
