How is availability of large size denim in shops in Japan. I will be in Tokyo and Osaka end of november. I need a new pair now but I would wait to buy if Iwas sure that I will find something to chose from in W38/L36.

if i'm about 7-8lbs heavier than i usually am (vacation made me fat), would it be a bad idea to go out and try raw denim? i'm usually 140, now im around 147. im pretty sure the weight will go down (it has multiple times before), but i wanted to go to the popular denim store in SF (the name slips my mind and i'm too lazy to google it for this post) while I'm still in the bay area in the next few days. i've never bought raw denim before :\

also, if i were to try some raw denim on of one brand could i buy another brand online using that sizing? I read that many sites selling them are good about returns so that would be helpful in this case.

sorry if these questions are stupid..this forum is difficult to sift through even after hours of browsing

Anyone familiar with a Japanese brand called Prohibit? They openned a store in NY a few blocks from Self Edge. I went in yesterday and they had 2 different, nice looking black selvege denims. It would be helpful to hear about them from someone not trying to sell them to me.

Hey, just soaked my first pair of raw denim (LVC 1954 501Z) and they've come out kind of weird. This might just be the way they are supposed to be, but I'm not quite sure. The "side seam" (or whatever you'd call it) on the left leg of my jeans curves inward so that the selvedge that shows is closer to the middle of my foot than to the side of my ankle like it's supposed to. The two legs are definitely asymmetrical. I don't really know whether to soak it again, or try to return a faulty product. Hopefully these photos will illustrate what I'm talking about.

Here's a good first look - you can see that the right leg inseam stitching is normal, while you can't even see it on the left leg from the top view.

Here the right leg looks fine.

But the left is totally off - that side seam is almost in the middle of the leg opening, and the brown stitching is nowhere to be seen - it's almost like the left leg has been rotated counterclockwise into the bed.

Did I screw up? Can I change this? Or am I calling up cultizm? Any help would be really appreciated.

Its part of the process, the leg twists around with your body. i have a pair of APCs that have moved in exactly the same way as your LVCs. i cant think of anyway to undo it, its just the way your body/the jeans are.

it happens in some jean more than others and you have to live with it. it happened to me once but there isn't much to complain about. neither is this a faulty product. its all part and parcel of raw denim. i doubt cultizm will be replacing these for you because of a leg twist. its not that big an issue really..

Can anyone vouch for this guy, his item description disclaimers make him seem untrustworthy...
