looks lurvely mk.2!!! thanks for sharing!

@UkeNo - due to the sizing up (I have gone for a 40 assuming it will shrink to 38, but given stretch may go back to 40) I requested these as insurance! Generally pairs stop getting worn because they're too small but I worried I may have gone the other way; with this pair I wanted his lovely neat top block stitching with maximum leg volume; the cinch and the extra buttons hopefully will ensure maximum length of wear (fingers crossed at least) - I get the fomo when seeing @JRendon02's dynamic and chic 1942 pair... but I have been pining for a '37 so must commit (and I read lvc blabbology somewhere that levis used to supply extra suspender buttons to the ol' timers who bought 501s from post '37 so I put myself in that whitehaired camp rather than thinking I have a mashed up '33) - belt and/or braces for the next 18 months!

and thanks to @MJF9 for getting the request through!

I like the thinking/planning here and it’s great that they still keep the era specific details. I had no idea Levi’s shipped with spare suspender buttons in this period. Cool that Simone could make that spec for you. Very nice.

Still waiting patiently to be used - probably on my Warehouse 415 cinchbacks.

I bought my last clothing item of 2024, yesterday. Picked up a Flat Head LS Glory Park off eBay for cheap.

I will be going on a buying hiatus for the duration of this contest. I have done this a couple of times, but only for a year at a time, so wish me luck. For me, it's a good reminder of how easily I go from "wanting" something to telling myself I "need" it; it saves you a decent amount of cash but, crucially, "re-love" items I have forgotten about. Anything during that time that I know I won't wear or didn't enjoy wearing goes up for sale. My 311s will be a good steadfast reminder of keeping to that promise.

I'm looking forward to starting this contest. Happy New Year, fellas!

Simone plans to ship between 7th and 8th of January to fully avoid all holidays.

I had missed this update and had just come to ask about it, so thank you! Exciting delivery week!

This is a great idea and I had been considering doing something similar, I like the purity of it. I certainly won't be WEARING any other jeans, but I'm wondering if I can not BUY any for 18 months too - there are a few specific pairs I know I'll struggle to resist over 2025 & beyond.

At the very least I want my WOMCON jeans to be a reminder to be much more mindful about purchasing.

Wearing the contest jeans 3x per week for 18 months will give about 234 wears

Is it enough to get some good fades?

How many wears are too many? Wearing 7x per week means 546 wears... is that too much?

Not long til we get going now...

I'm going to try to wear once a day, but the length of time will vary on what I get up to in that particular day. Could be one hour of wear or a full 18. Need to put in some wear on other denim I have.

Flying blind on the fit, not sure how oversized they'll be (size 40 is new territory for me lol), so depending on the outcome they'll either be my dedicated all day every days at best, or my new dog walkers at worst. Either way I do plan to increase to a more normalized washing routine as I'm doing the no wash thing on my Ooe's which has caused damage to the crotch stitching. Excited to get this pair though! I will hold off on any other jeans purchases (excluding Ooe; Did I mention them enough yet?) through the duration of the contest in solidarity.

If these jeans fit, I'll be wearing them minimum five days a week for 12-16 hours... thing is, I have jeans I've worn for the same duration for one-plus years and they've barely faded 😂 I'm in this for the love of the game.

I’ll wear mine for between one day and 546 days - whether they fit or not! My real hope is to get at least something like 3-400 days of wear, but summer, fit and other factors might come into play.  Like the fact that my Ooe 01’s are just starting to be an actual broken in pair (after almost a year, and I’m enjoying them.

If history is any guide, 546 days is probably not enough for me to thrash a pair (though I never did tally the wear on…anything), but the crotch may need reinforcing and darning by day 100ish, if I get there.

If you want to increase the number of wears, simply take them off halfway through the day, wait 5 minutes and then put them back on again!

And of course put them in the freezer for that 5 minutes (to kill the bacteria). Perhaps a hot oven would work too?...

I love the spirit, but y’all are setting yourselves up for failure with all this big talk…you don’t even know if the contest jeans fit you yet

😂 quite right, there's a lot hanging on this, but what's a bit of nervous excitement between denim nerds!

Oh, I wasn't actually planning on wearing them. I just wanted to add them to my "How Many Pairs" thread list.

I’ve already added it to the list of “how many pairs I’ve never bought.”🙂

But seriously, I’m genuinely impressed—in the best way—by the enthusiasm here. I’ll be looking forward to photos of the different stages!
