Why are your boots on a stool in the middle of the room?

Wouldn't it be better to leave them next to the door or maybe put them with your other foorwear, on a shoe rack or something.. what's going on here??

@julian-wolf a strong 70's Richard Dreyfuss-esque vibe!

I understand that @goodrain fitpics tend to be contrived by their very nature, I even get the blatant product placement of the magazine, I just don’t get the orchestrated ‘boots on a stool’ if you want to show them off, put them on your feet or we have a boots thread

Maybe it’s a progression of the mocs n’ socks theme but you can’t be fake tying your engineer boot laces so the only way to get your socks and boots in the same pic is to have the boots off the feet... but this still doesn’t explain why they’re on a stool?? c’mon @busterthehuman put me out of my misery?

It's an accent piece for his living room.

I understand no wearing shoes indoors [and keeping boots in an elevated position to avoid lockdown puppy chew damage is my guess] ... b-b-but what about the indoor wearing of a hat b'gad!

[I do keep shoes near desk as strange object-fetish at times: at certain times can only type when wearing certain shoes, but hey... and I do type this wearing a cap, indoors, but I do think, akin to @JMS the boots look like they might be being prepped for becoming-flowerpot treatment...]

Maybe he's just polishing his boots in the lounge and waiting for them to dry, while reading a magazine. As the overhead light is too bright, he dons a hat to shade his view (???)

Perhaps they’re being worn by his invisible friend who is frightened of the mouse that Buster is attempting to swat with his lifestyle magazine?

Maybe he put a fresh coat of varnish on the stool and it wasn’t quite dry before he stood on it... now he can’t get the flipping things off!

Hahah you all have me dying.

It was a staged pic, mostly. I have my engineers on a stool in my bedroom. They don't fit on my normal shoe rack, and I wore them this day with my outfit so I included them in the photo to not wear on my feet indoors.

Also the book was what I was reading before the photo.

You're thinking way too hard about this :D

Precisely, children will ruin your life and put you in debt - plants... only mostly. The Monstera in the back there is 5 years old and is about 6 feet tall! My pride and joy.

Surely the vast majority of WAYWT pics are staged?

But wearing a hat indoors? That’s unforgivable.

@busterthehuman Have you drawn them yet? When I noticed them on the first page I thought they were set up for a still life.

@smoothsailor what kind of cargo was being hauled to snap that?

@LazyS it’s not my frame, I just repaired it. But I have seen pictures of the owner carrying tons of stuff on it.

it is a pretty hefty frame though, it snapped where the reinforcements was welded, the welding made the frame weak
