Running double TCB yesterday (jacket and chambray).

My jacket is finally starting to show some character and I am very excited

does the slim 50 and the regular 50 have the same rise?  i love the rise of the older 50 jeans but would not mind the more tapered pant legs.

Nope the rise of the slim 50s is much lower.

For further info, these are the measured rise for slim 50s for size 31 and size 32 that I was given by denimio support ages ago:

Size 31, One-Wash
front rise: 24.5 cm

----------------------
Size 32, One-Wash
front rise: 25 cm

thanks but one pair of low rise jeans in my arsenal is enough for me.  i like it airy down there if you know what i mean?

I totally agree, which is why i passed on the slim50s and bought myself a pair of 60s

I commissioned the work. The person who did the work prefers to remain unnamed.

Initial wash and dry regiment has been completed. Hour in burning hot water in the bathtub, followed by a full hot wash cycle and dryer. I had asked Inoue to calculate for 31” inseam after the shrink.. these ended up at 33”. Kinda bummed about that. Really don’t love to double roll. Also don’t love losing the factory chain stitch if I choose to get them hemmed.

Ah well, I gusss.

Type one has arrived! Jacket beside it is my Warehouse type 1. Fit is raw. Jacket being washed right now. iPhone photos don't do the color justice. I'll try and get some outdoor shots with my real camera.

I thought I didn't have too much going on for my 50s but after a wash the grainy-ness of the denim just sky rocketed!!

 

 

edit: unfortunately, public wifi killed the quality but you get the idea.

Seems that way. I gave them another run through the wash just to see.. no real change. Ah well. They still fit nice. Just look different than how I am used to wearing them.

@fix_me33 is the standard inseam. The fit is great though. Try a folded cuff instead than a standard double cuff, it will look a bit less bulky.

look forward to see the post soak fit. My own 30s jacket shrank a good bit length wise and didn't almost shrink width wise. I didn't use a dryer though, and not planning to do it since at the moment it fits exactly as I want... I'm pretty much wearing it every day now, and plan to do so until the next summer...

30's jacket fades faster than the 50's jacket in my opinion.  i have worn the former for a shorter amount of time and i am seeing way more fades on it than the latter.  also a nice touch are the buttons.  they are already oxidizing and i am seeing specks of rust on them.  i shrank the 30's jacket a lot by putting it in a dryer and a hot water bath.  sleeves and body length are perfect now.  asked for a one wash but got the raw version.

Finally have a day off work today, so I decided to take a little bit of time to shoot photographs of a few pairs of my now semi-retired or waiting for repairs jeans. The photos probably arent the best because they are Iphone (doing this really made me want to buy a proper camera) but i'll try! 

Will be posting a few pairs over in the Sugar Cane thread aswell if anybody is interested.

Anyway.. I spent a good chunk of the year wearing my TCB 70s bush pant as my regular work pant (I am an Ironworker) and they got really destroyed. I believe I was somewhere around 100 days and 3 or 4 washes when I put them away, but I dont remember the exact numbers

Minor photod dump. Post wash fit pick- definitely got all the shrink out of them. Length is perfect for me and slightly snug through the chest but still fine with a sweatshirt underneath. 

Worn with my 60s jeans for comparison.

Sensible struggle, and there's merit to both. There's some serious potential for sashiko repairs right now, which could give them a whole new life.

The crotch is good, but the hip is blown out from around the belt area all the way down to mid thigh. Quite a large rip, but it just looks like all of the thread busted open, nothing actually ripped
