Shoes that look better with age...

Resoled my Tender rough-out service shoe.

I know, not Cat's Paw or Biltrite, but this is probably as good as it gets in Aus for a brass screw shoe.

The companies that own brass screw machines will only rebuild their own shoes :-/

The original crepe sole was nice, but became dirty real quick, and was very slippery when wet - almost killed myself on a couple of staircases when it rained.

I had come across these guys quite a while ago as well, when searching for Munson lasted boots. They will make custom boots on the Munson last. Some of their offerings look pretty good, at least in pics.

Might not be the best place but figured i'd try. I am interested in the Jelado x Rhythm Footwear Sandwich's. Anyone know how to size for them? I found a picture that seems they are sized similar to converse and Shoes Like Pottery so was going to go with my SLP size (size 28 in SLP, 10 in converse but 11 in Nike, Adidas, Vans, etc) so a but wanted to make sure before I throw the money on them.

I guess it depends on your jean size, if you're a 36 or 38 the hem might be pretty huge. On the other hand 50s cuts aren't that wide overall (meaning it's no 20s gold digger tents for legs cut). I don't see why it shouldn't work on principle.

I don't have any very wide cut jeans, but a quick sample below...

I only like slimmer boots with a high cuff on wide leg jeans, stacks look terrible with anything above 8.25"

I like the Indy's with straight leg jeans. On jeans with too much taper, the Indy's and especially the other heavier American boots like White's have a tendency to look too much like clown shoes.

I like it, Indiana Jones himself would be proud of that fit. I second Mike here, try a high water cuff, it looks cool when wearing wide jeans and boots.

I like pointy western boots, but square toe always seemed both less over the top for everyday wear while also carrying more Spagetthi western cred (and who doesn't want to look like Clint Eastwood):

 

 

So there was always an image in the back of my head of what is basically a harness style "biker" boot, just without the ankle harness (or spurs ). There was no boot like that I found that checked all my boxes, some detail was always off, so I lurked around eBay until I got a classic Sendra harness boot for cheap. No rough out like the man with no name's, but this isn't about cosplay

 

 

After making sure they fit I took an exacto knife and just cut off the strap:

 

 

Here they are a thorough cleaning and conditioning later:

 

 

 

The cutoff job could have been more exact, but this was more or less just proof of concept. I was afraid the harness might have left the leather underneath discolored compared to the rest of the boot, but it worked out fine:

 

 

These boots came in a bit of a neglected condition, comparing to the unconditioned straps:

 

 

It's still far too hot to actually wear them, maybe they'll get another round of conditioning before it gets colder.

A triumph toe taps would help yeah rubber sole would be the best yes dainite would be good
