  11. Fullcount released a few of their cuts in black, probably could still find those. OP doesn’t say it has to be black/black, but FC has both versions depending on cuts I think. Also, indigofera gunpowder denim. That’s what I ended up with a few years ago when I wanted a black denim jean that wasn’t a slim fit. Kirk was the fit. They’re beater jeans now but it’s a good pair.

  17. thank you; good to be back! haven’t been posting as been lured by the call of the actually water proof and effecient warmth-to-weight ratio: charity shopped musto and folk wool-fleece as evidence… (gorpxyachtcore) back to spring back to denims: think have found a good partner to the tcb 40s jacket: tender 125 (‘achilles’ over-dye: natural indigo not woad methinks)

  31. Indeed! I really like this fabric too, and it's particularly interesting how it takes the darker dyes, which make the colour variation much more subtle. I'll have one more variation in this fabric over the next few weeks, but I'm afraid none going to EU stockist this time. Here are some closeups of the 'rough' logwood and hadal purple dyed versions. The rough logwood was a test using a mix of old more coarsely ground logwood powder, it didn't dye as evenly as regular logwood (particularly the newest batch of black logwood which came out beautifully dark and clean) but I think works really well on this fabric, which is slightly coarser and heavier, and in this style, which works best as an overshirt/light jacket.

  32. P17 difference .. both in Sz S. as you can see, the new iteration in ds is cut shorter than the old iteration in stotz. and the waist cinch does have an issue with cinching.. pulling on the strap to cinch is much harder compared to my other pants that has the same system. Maybe it just needs to be broken in. anywhoo.. thought I’d share.

  36. ONI 546 in 22oz with Kabuki selvedge. The last pair of heavy denim with contrast fades I had before moving towards lighter repro styles and looser fits in recent years. Truly a stunning denim. Probably a couple of years wear here and a few washes.

  40. Ok, now a serious answer. I really think they cater to a different audience. All in all the Freewheelers are probably the better jeans. Cleaner construction, high quality materials, better pattern, more unique denim. The CSF really focus on the "authenticity" even if this means deliberately including failures. But (as you think as well @Dr_Heech ) using the period correct sewing machines and using the same sewing techniques is something you won't find on other jeans on this level. Price-wise the FW clearly win as you get a lot for your money and you don't pay a dick But in the end, the best jeans is the one that fits you best and which you want to put on each day and that's why I said SC 1946

  44. Phigvel wide officer trousers. Fit is pretty good but I wouldn’t be surprised that they’ll shrink with wash. Price wise, I was very reluctant to pay 30000 yen plus for some chinos so these had to be worth it. The quality is very good and the attention to detail such as the cloth garbidine pockets, hidden key pocket in right pocket, stitching etc made this a go for me.
