For he's a jolly good fellow, and so say all of us... and so say all of us... That FW legend Duke Mantee was spot on with our man in Japan4 points

I bought a pair of these about 5 or 6 years ago for about £600, from RMc in London, (Covent Garden I think). Probably the most uncomfortable boots I have ever had the displeasure to wear. Fortunately I managed to offload them on to some other unsuspecting poor sod someone else for £500. I see they now retail for £1,300!! Bonkers! Edit: Doesn't surprise me to see that their Mayfair shop is now closed. Footpads!4 points

I read somewhere in on this website that a certain person in Japan is fixing up people with FW care packages so I decided to try it out 😉 I already got a few items like the 1951 601xx and was very impressed so far. The thing I was missing in my closet were some nice flannels. I got the Skid Row in two different fabrics and the Jenkins shirt as well. And all I can say is, wow. These shirts are unlike anything I have ever owned. It is very hard to describe what’s so special about FW items and why I like them so much but I’ll try. I guess they almost feel like they’re one of a kind handmade items. The fabrics, hardware, stitching, patterns and construction are so nice. Nice, but not perfect and that is just the key to make them feel so special. The patterns are a little quirky and somehow seem like real vintage. Cut for purpose, not for fashion. I don’t want perfectly aligned pockets, the cleanest sewing or the strongest thread construction. The stitching on these shirts is a 100% cotton as opposed to many other repro brands which use core spun or polyester threads. This is a big plus for me. They will age along with the cotton fabric and get that faded, worn look like on vintage garments. I actually prefer them to break in the long run so I can repair them 😁 I searched a long time for this and happy to have finally found it. Apart from this I just want to say that Seiichiro is an absolute wonderful person who has helped me a lot with explaining about the items and garment construction and fabrics in general. Great guy. I’ll try and get some pics up this weekend of the shirts when I’m at home during daylight 🙂2 points

Pertex is extremely lightweight and breathable, plus it's white so it makes sense for it to be translucent. Really hoping this surfaces in the coming seasons. The camo Colette jacket however, is straight up transparent when shown against the light at invariance, moreso than the pertex 1a. You can kind of see here how much more thin the fabric is here around the sleeves.1 point

Some inside rumors: There will be a 1947 or 1955 model, a WW2 model and another 66 model which will have a different denim to the 66 model that haven't even been released yet. We will see...1 point

Thanks buddy - the owner gave me some rough sketches and it got developed from there. Shows that a belt doesn’t have to conform to rigid guidelines1 point

Recently patched over a knee blowout on the M41119 that I use mostly for climbing Did it all by hand, which I had never actually tried out before for this sort of repair, & I’m really happy with how it’s turned out1 point

M41119 also coming along well Good looking, good fitting, well made jeans, but the pockets (front & back both) are too small for me to ever want to use them day to day—so these will forever just be for climbing & yard work too Just finished up a fun knee blowout repair; meanwhile, I left them outside to dry one night after a sweaty day & an enterprising squirrel made a meal out of them (I guess it wanted the salt) so there’s still a bunch of little holes around the thighs & seat that I need to patch up. Besides that, plenty of life left1 point

M41057 I’d had an old stock pair of these in the closet for a while still rigid. Could tell they were going to be absolute favorites, but I guess I was just saving them for a rainy day? These showed up on Yahoo for a steal, washed & hemmed short but otherwise like new. Snatched them up w/ the intention of using them mostly for climbing & yard work, since I knew the legs would be too short for regular wear. Really happy with how they’ve been wearing in, and the fit is just about perfect. Makes me look forward to the dead stock pair all the more.1 point

KaDeWe might not be what comes to mind when you think of Acronym but they do stock it besides brands like Rick Owens, Undercover and Veilance. You could also see if VooStore has anything you like. Might as well check out Markthalle 9, grab a slice of pizza from Sironi and walk to Gate194, if you're there. They have a curated selection as well, even though they don't have much stock in store.1 point
