After about 10 years on the heavy stuff I’ve started to dabble in the lighter side. That’s lead me to repros. With the Yen on sale, I’ve been snapping up some likely silhouettes from Full Count, OA, and now with the Warehouse 1101 Big E. I’ll probably add my other pairs to their proper thread but these actually inspired me to finally post something. I found out about these right here. I’m shocked by how much I like them. They may be my favorite jeans of all time. The fading potential is incredible and they fold so nicely. Does anyone know if this is their regular denim with a different dye, or is this something completely different? I may try another pair of 1101 if their banner denim is different. I like the fit a lot. They’re very comfortable for me. These are a size 30. I’ve hot washed them 3x, inside out in a regular washer, and I dried them partially in the dryer. Twice when they got here, and again after I spent a couple days skiing in them. I forgot my base layer. Wore them under my bibs with no issues. They are that comfortable. Shoes are new Moto shells. Took a risk on a size 3 and they fit my size 11 feet perfectly. Prewash pictures at the end.16 points

Spent a few hours behind the machine yesterday on the practice pants. Learned a couple things from the first time I did some felled seams, so this time went smoother, though I had to fiddle with the tension a bit. Yoke seams came out kinda wonky, but not too bad. Front pockets were a lot of fun to do because of all the steps, and after the first one I breezed right through the second one. Ignore the fact that I forgot to stitch the top seam of the coin pocket. Got too excited and didn't care enough to redo it since these are for practice. Planning on using the same pocket bag fabric on the real pair too.7 points

Picked these up on eBay- thought they were Lot2000 but they are actually Lot9000 which I’ve not heard of before despite my geekery. Any experts got any info? They measure 32 in waist despite 35 tag, so I’m assuming they are a No.1 Tiger selvedge, and coin pocket is non selvedge. Roping on hem is lovely, and because they measure 30 in leg means a small single cuff for my height.7 points

SO Denim cap NOS vintage leather jacket SO Found vest 197Os NYU Film school Tee SO Vintage belt Vintage jumbo blanket pin Freshly soaked 501 STF Indigo x pink Vintage Chippewas Both the jacket and jeans are new, super stiff and unyielding at the moment. The jacket is almost an exact copy of my 25 year old thrashed moto jacket that found it locally for ten bones. The jeans are my third pair in this denim (indigo X neon pink) and these have shrunk the most by far. I'm going to leave this pair unaltered and stacked for my boots. I've included pre and post soak pics as well as comparison shots of the jackets. 🖤 Jacket sleeve comparison. The old one is completely tattered. Jacket fit comparison. A 25 year difference. Pre soak and post soak. I did not size up and these shrank quite a bit and dried into the crispiest pair I've ever worn. Like burlap cardboard. Noisy too. I was hoping for a but more room but the fit is so good I'm not mad7 points

Thanks everyone, I’ve had a lovely day, pub lunch with Mrs F and the whippet earlier. Just returned from the local sushi restaurant for dinner with the family and now having a glass of Drappier with some homemade (not by me) Victoria Sponge. Cheers!6 points

Belafonte denim trousers. Got them last April and wore here and there in summer with more consecutive wear as the weather cooled. The interesting thing is the rubber boots fade that’s starting to appear. It’s interesting because I’m only wearing the boots when it’s wet and muddy for dog walk, so I’d say around 30 time for a 2 hour period each time? In the past two months. It’s interesting that it left such a noticeable mark. Anyways I like it a lot. I have them a wash after I took the picture. Will maybe update after they dry up if there are major differences6 points

I don't have a pair of 1101 for comparison, but the denim on the new Big E's is different than the Banner denim. The 1101 denim is more of a 60s denim (to my understanding), while Banner Denim is a 30s denim. The Banner Denim has a nice gritty hand feel - in a vintage and not an exaggerated way. There are some 1001xx photos with Banner denim, including my own, on page 363 of the thread. Edit: here is a side-by-side close-up of Samurai zero denim beneath WH banner denim for reference/comparison. Banner denim has a textured and gritty feel but not as extreme as say a Samurai denim Samurai zero denim WH Banner Denim6 points

Definitely Lot2000 low rise compared to 2001, but great hand painted arcs and in such good condition. Evisu.jp is now gone so it’s good to pick up originals (even the wife approved and knows the difference of original Yamane!)1 point

@yung_flynn thank you for that explanation and the pics. Now I'm definitely going to try the banner denim as well. This is such a nice pattern.1 point

Love looking at old photos where you can see how differently people wore their 501's in terms of the buckle adjuster. Here we have Walter Latta, at his ranch in Bozeman Montana (1939) and his straps are hanging loose. Whereas in the previous ^^photos one cowboy has had his straps cut off and the other wears a thinner width belt to allow both belt and buckle strap done up.1 point

I’d say it’s more a matter of us being very steeped in the brand more than the brand not being prevalent. It’s still pretty small scale compared to most other fashion houses/big labels. All that being said- I know a bunch of peoples that make and spin edm that wear a bunch of ACR stuff on the reg.1 point

Kinda surprised there’s no acronym techno overlap here?? The p30ae is the absolute perfect pair of pants for techno, between the wide range of temps they can accommodate and the amount of pockets for organizing earplugs, super compact bucket hats, Techno Snuff, etc. And jacketsling spares you from having to deal with coat check. Plus the aesthetic ofc. qq for anyone with a vest with auxzip, it just doesn’t work at all wearing a jacketsling on the outer jacket right? Without the sleeves to pin it up, it’s just gonna hang and drag on the ground? I dont want to get into it about discord, but I will say, I’m very glad this community somehow survived the redditization of the internet that killed so many forums. This site—hell this thread—was around long before discord was even in alpha. This shit is like a 90s forum, extremely specific culture, vicious beratement of noobs who fail to come correct, it’s great. If you want the discord community vibe, go post in discord 😉1 point

Took @reallypeacedoff's advice and got some canvas instead of muslin. Was only a couple bucks more per yard than muslin at Joann's so it was a no brainer, and I have enough canvas left to make a real pair of jeans before I use my fancy denim. Modified the pattern I copied off a pair of levis. Gave them about 10" in the hem vs the levis' 8.5" or whatever it was. Really enjoyed patterning though, and it was a lot simpler than I had anticipated to make the changes. Stitched up a muslin (feels silly calling it that since I didn't use muslin) and used it as a chance to practice felled seams too. Made a few mistakes with orientation for the felled seams, but I think that's in part due to this canvas not having a clear right or wrong side lol. Real happy with the fit though. It's pretty much precisely what I want, so I don't have to go and modify the patterns. I realized that I need to get an edge guide though. Since this was a muslin I just marked the seam allowance with sharpie, but that's not gonna fly on the real thing. Till next time!1 point

I come across this picture every few months or so on Pinterest. This guy reminds me of David Letterman so much at one point I tried to see if they’re somehow related (yielded no results).1 point

Hey community, Beware of this time waster @yeffab. Bombards you with messages and questions saying he is paypal ready and ready to buy and then ghosts you. Blocked him once and then he creates new accounts to message me again and tries to pass himself off as a different user. Just a heads up, don't waste your time.0 points
