SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)

i did, twice.

If you haven't soaked/washed it in a while, hot soak/hot wash it and dry it on high heat and it'll shrink up a little bit (it stretches out a little when you wear it and it'll shrink back). Other than that, wear a belt. If that still doesn't work, then there's not much else you can do.

Anyone have experience with Samurai t-shirts or polo shirts and their sizing? Is an XL more like an "American" large? I cannot seem to find actual measurements anywhere. Thanks!

After going to my local specialist denim shop and tried the lee 101z 23oz I ordered them online (they did not have my size in stock and were not getting any either)

Must say it is a really really weird feeling wearing something so heavy I really hope I can grow to like it

I have been searching but have not found anything is there any fade pictures or pictures of worn pairs anywhere online?

Mellowllama: I'd say yes, since you don't know how he soaked them. Just soaking FH jeans doesn't fully shrink them, I'd say give them a full wash (with or without soap) in warm water. Agitation is absolutely crucial to get all the shrink out at once. Don't worry about losing indigo, FH denim is insanely dark and retains its color really well.

I looked around a little and was unable to find a solid answer, I probably confused myself more.

So for the 10th million time here is a sizing question.

I measured my waist at 33 inches. my Levi's 501xx are size 30 ( measure 33 inches) , my Lucky 221 are size 29 (measure 32 inches). As you may tell by my denim I'm a noob. My question is , what size would I buy in brands like Iron Heart , Paul Rose ,and Naked and Famous.

Some advice required as to where I should look to go as I have a mint pair of Boxed Levis Red 10th Anniversary Giants that I'm looking to sell. Any advice as to where collectable denim is traded would be really appreciated.

Or should I just use the Supermarket?

Fabrics, threads, dyeing, machines, hardware. Not all selvage is created equal, and just because it's Japanese doesn't make it the best. It is a combination of all the things above that make certain brands stand out, and it happens that the majority of them are from Japan.

Need some advice. Looking for a new pair. Really love my fit on naked and famous skinny guy. What else has a similar fit and should be my next pair?

Do you have fit pics?

question regarding Alden lasts:

If I fit comfortably in a 10 b/d in the Plaza last do you think a 10.5 c/e in the Aberdeen last would be do-able or is it going to be too large? I know it's slightly more narrow than the Plaza to begin with which is why I ask this question. Any help is greatly appreciated.

whats the difference in having a pair of jeans that are tapered from both seams rather than just the inseam? besides the selvedge

why is it generally made so that the jean pattern has the taper on the inseam? you can very easily have both the taper from the outseam too and keep the selvedge. does it change the fit of the pant?

Where in MD are you? I ran into a guy who runs a shop in DC called Rue14, but he's changing it to Blues Hard Goods. He was in head to toe Mr. Freedom. Has Union Special chainstitch and darning machines.

I'm over in Columbia but willing to drive around.

Where is this shop? Have you been?

So i just have my first experience with APC New Petit Standard, size 29 and really dig for the fits. It was really spot on for me.

Is there any raw denim that have a close cutting with it? looking for both mediumweight and heavyweight ..

also, does anyone knows any shops in Melbourne that have raw denim? besides nudies of course, that thing is everywhere..
