Levi's Vintage Clothing

LVC ended US production of 501s, so they might as well do a 90s collection to celebrate that.

‘55 501.  Have maybe from Taylor Toggs? Has the M on the button.

Bought in 2017, oldest pair in rotation. Starting to get pretty worn in places. Best traintracks of any pair I’ve had.

For those UK based StyleCreep sale has started and they have LVC jeans for just over £100, tempted by the rigid 1954s but measurements make them seem only just 38" so no real room for shrinkage.

There is also a Cone Mills blanket lined type two on Marrkt for £175 which seems reasonable. It's a 38, if it were my size I'd have bought it already.

Ive got some orignal 78s on ebay at moment.

I'm a size 34/36, and didn't see anything in that size range. but thanks for the head's up. Bought a pair of cone 511's tho, which I'm hoping will fit. I'm just curious how the denim fades and proud to wear some miusa levis :)

Found that if your cinchback jeans, 201 for example are tight at the waist, they are more comfortable with the cinch tightened as it keeps the waistband above the waist. Thighs are not a problem with old cuts.

Apologies for the delayed reply. They've been hand washed three times over the years.

Welp, I snagged some cone mills 511s from the bay. Not gonna lie, they are infinitely better than the '84 lvc made in Turkey 501s. Everything about them screams quality. Outside of the shortish front rise, I could not ask for anything else in a pair of jeans.

I've also been looking at original '84 501s. Non selvage, but I don't care. I am curious however about the difference between the regular shrink to fit versions and the 'student fit' version. Anyone know?

Anyone have some wisdom about the denim used for the 67 505 over the years? Specifically about the Kiahara vs. Cone debate - I saw earlier posts here mentioning that it has always been Kaihara, but have also seen conflicting points that there were also Cone versions at some point. A friend of mine is offering me a brand new without tags pair I believe is from ~2012 or earlier. Don't have any pics on hand at the moment, but they paper patch still has very small "made in USA" printed between lot # and size, which I know was eventually removed on more recent versions

Comparing my new 1937 501XXc s with my 1937 201XX s made 11 months apart at Valencia Street. The 501XXc 's inner label shows it as a 201. Some deadstock 501XXc s are still available but you can no longer get them for around £210 which you could a few weeks back in the sale  at https://item.rakuten.co.jp/birigo/levis-37201-0003/

I know this is mostly a denim thread but I have a soft spot for LVC sweatshirts and Tees. The cuts fit my short stocky ass better and they can usually be picked up at a hefty end of season discount.

I know they aren't as hardcore faithful as some of the loopwheeled Japanese repro brands but I love the freedom sleeves and very wearable fabric weight on the crewnecks. And the design of the 1950s hoodie is like nothing else out there. I also have one in black with some of the nicest heaviest French terry ever.

Fair play @Dry  I saw you mention the 201, not 1937 201.

The length of the seam between the waistband and the yoke, the denim and the shape of the rear pocket. What is on the button @crownzip ? I like them.

These from S1 2006 had a small e tab. They came from American Classics and they had them the same with small e, big E and plain  R (registered trademark) tabs so I got 2 of each but wore the little es in first.

Hello guys, It's my first post here. I am Denimseeker (ig: denim_seeker).
I have been collecting vintage jackets for a while, esp. denim jackets. Feeling that the denim world deserves a better guide for Levi's denim jackets so I tried my best to make one. The guide is much more complicated than those you see on other websites (i.e. Heddel's or Long John etc) so you might need some basic understanding to read it. This guide is open for comments and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to let me know. This guide is still a work in progress and would be wonderful if everybody in the denim world can contribute.
      That being said, enjoy!

      Hi All,
see you again on 2020 and I wish you all happy new year. this time I need your opinion about Levi's BIG E that I found at flea market few days ago. I found an old Levi's vest (its a jacket once before), this vest do not have a cinch back, I also cannot see the number on the back of button, tag was unavailable. only rivets, red tab and selvedge that I can see clearly. here's I send you the details. Hopefully someone here can give me an opinion regarding this Levi's. Any opinions are welcome, I do appreciated.
      please let me know.

I checked the Encyclopedia thread and only one Levi's link didn't give a 404 error, so here goes nothing. I should add that a lot of the center patch jeans actually aren't vintage (at least the ones I'm looking for) and date back to around 2006. I've talked with Levi's support a handful of times and got nothing out of it. I'm trying to figure out what all the center patch pairs are. I know I haven't quite figured them all out, but I've found a few, though they seem very hard to come by, and obviously aren't currently in production. I'd really like to find a pair with the white "Quality Never Goes Out of Style" center patch. Something tells me I don't have the ideal wording, and if I knew exactly what to type, I could probably find a plethora of those jeans. When I google 519's, I have to block the words extreme or skinny (add a - in front of whatever word you don't want to see in the results) or I get mostly brand new pairs of 519's. Here's what I know so far:

This pair, which can be seen clearly in the first photo and on this store page (which has other photos of the same pair) appears to be 519 slim fit. However, they don't seem to be the normal 519 slim fit. One site I looked at called them "519 slim fit side adjusters". I have looked extensively over the past couple of weeks and was lucky to find that clear photo, as well as that store listing and one Ebay listing which sold a while back. On a side note, I found that 511 skinny leg (or a version, rather) seems to look the same, with the centered white patch and waist adjusters, but they too are hard to find. The 511's and 519's have a white patch that says, "Quality Never Goes Out of Style". There may be others as well.

You may recognize these from the Moonbathing ads. They are part of the "Two Horse Brand" collection, which have a yellow and white patch and say "Two Horse Brand" on the patch. 506 and 511 look identical, while 509 has the addition of a cinch back. There might be other fit numbers I'm missing.
