Happy jeans: TCBxSufu S40s WW2 contest thread

well it seems to work alright @bartlebyyphonics . Like you say there's more consideration to it to make it look good , tho appears more random.. WW2's go well with it too.. Seen some of your other pics where you've possibly a larger and littler jacket : nice looks.. its about how bigger but shorter jackets actually hang somehow.... Chore coats good - and the cheap surplus great no? I also often wear a couple jackets ( but not in a stylish way tho ) - its a nice way to wear more of the stuff you like . You have to take the odd critical/quizzical looks alright.. (And 2 pairs of jeans in the cold too..(ahem....) Looking forward to enjoying everyones contest stuff and how the TCB's go

Thanks for the replies @justintk and @beautiful_FrEaK - yep I get what youre meaning re the TCB's. I feel a little of that too tho not as badly. It could well be less versatile with what to wear but I really like it and feels distinctive. And like the denim a lot. One of the extra appeals - as many of you have said - is I love the ethos of TCB - seems connected to the people into their jeans etc and interested in them Just too say im not meaning to take away from the WW2's themselves, just always curious on other jeans and peoples thoughts etc so used it as an excuse to ask.... And what makes peoples' favourites. I almost bought the Resolute 710 BF at Trunk in London last year funnily enough but when I went down and in to the shop they didn't have any - and at that point id vowed Never to buy more jeans without trying on.. And I didn't do.. Well, - not until the TCB's. Most of my older jeans are slimmer though and I've always wanted to get bigger so WW2's more along that line... The TCB contest has actually got me more back into jeans interest and going back and trying on my old pairs... risk of rambling now......

Just chiming in on the discussion on fits - not cos I know anything but its interesting what people are thinking. @volvo240thebest that is a really nice easygoing look there. I think from those that have posted fit pics they look fine don't they.. I remember some early posts people looked great in them. Its funny, sometimes people post a pic and you think that looks pretty good - wish mine fitted more like that - and then couple weeks later they say not working out - something about it is just off and not always apparent to others most of the time Maybe a bit of an unfair question but @beautiful_FrEaK - you've probably got more experience of the variety of jeans than most to compare the TCB's with so its probably more clear to you - what's some of your favourite fitting jeans just for hanging out? Anyone else got real favourites that they've got? I find they change quite a lot over time - as the jeans get older and hang differently (usually betterly)
  5. this choice isn't what you get on a radio station is it. . nor some of these outfits.....

Today. Although I don't have any noticeable fading on my jeans - I still really liking the very dark inky (almost black) colour they are at the moment, and the shape/way they hang.

Early days of course- but lots of good looking denim from you all... No fading on mine yet. At All! And certainly no rust.. (Feel grateful my pair is an especially deep dyed pair of natural indigo within the batch....)

^ Thank very much @Uncle Karl - I hope this is a good translation - from google translate of course Hello! @Chris T Cleaned only once in the last 10 years. And this fabric uses the fabric of Big John's dead stock from the 70's. There used to be a Big John factory in Kochi prefecture, where I live. The owner of a jeans shop asked the person working there to break the fabric a little. I have the same idea as you. Flea, wood chips, frayed fabric. And since it's barely washed, it's a great shade. I also love colors like this.

Hi @Uncle Karl ...Your TCBWW2's are wearing along very nicely. Your chisel bag's dark and light blues and the few lighter worn areas looks beautiful. It must be that distinct combination of the not washing at all, so it keeps that certain shade of indigo + the constant contact with wood and metal tools are the main extra ingredient. I'd love to have a chore coat or jeans with these kinds of colours/texture

    Show Us Around Your Neighbourhood

What a nice place to live Double 00 - combination of normal and poncey and unusual places. And the houses geography and all the trees lovely too. Certainly not the part of Sheffield I used to pass through on the way to Hull way back in my past
  14. im not even a northern soul especial fan, but this is another and one of my favourite emotional vocals - less well known too
  15. This is well known alright but its one of those songs that always makes the people who like it Really happy when you hear it - I always picture peoples lost in the song and happy faces on the dance floor when its played
  16. I couldn't tell what level of sincerity this has - but enjoyed it Duke

    Warehouse

hope this isn't overkill - this is from Blue in Green originally - and don't they look blue! I knew they were 1000x denim but wasn't certain if they were the oxidation denim or not - but so they are. http://thevitamine.blogspot.com/2010/08/warehouse-co-for-blue-in-green-d5.html

    Warehouse

Saturday it’s Saturday.. Saturday it’s Saturdayayay Warehouse live. these are Warehouse D5s (Blue in Green Specials) - I’ve had them a long while and really worn them a lot - denim is fantastic - all the blues and the texture love it. You really mostly see all that close up rather than when wearing - but that’s just the way of it.

    Congratulations to you @aho!
  23. seem to have been listening to a lot of mellower stuff in last weeks - some might say there's not a lot to it, but you could equally say pretty dreamy. And like Double 0 said above - give it a little time for the beats to break...
  24. That’s a very nice selection @chicote wasnt sure what that first one would be like with that picture - he looks so slick @freshwater - I never knew what that Mental Qube track was called - so cheers for that
