  3. Warehouse 800xx in 32, I believe they were about 81-82cm in the waist and shrunk down to 74 stretched back out to 80 in one day. I wore many slim straight pairs, Fullcount 1108, iron heart 666, flathead 3009, pbj, momotaro etc, they all stretched and sagged below my hips. These are really nice because the high rise allows my belt to sit above my hips and prevents any sagging. the denim is very rough and uncomfortable compared to the nice Zimbabwe cotton in other brands, I’m eager to break these things in hard like my flatheads. I’m going to avoid putting my cell phone and wallet in the rear pockets as it seems to promote too much stretching in the seat of the jeans.

  6. thanks @Maynard Friedman life isn’t forever but endings are difficult/ raise questions and challenges: we had fairly existential differences, how to keep the good and let go of the rest… those that go before us leave us all kinds of gifts… in the vein of @julian-wolf’s gardening: compared to his orderly plantings i am wrangling some wilderness at the back: hacking away as self seeded sycamores that have grown into fencing… ‘oh inch of life’…

  7. hello all: sorry for lack of posts: my mother died unexpectedly the day these jeans arrived… quite the negative co-incidence… lots of plane alarms set off by jeans in travelling to la belle france where she lived: some dramatic skies from the area lemanique to mark it…

  10. I mentioned recently that I had found a pair of jeans unexpectedly on Yahoo, they arrived last week: Slash Overalls S01XX. I've been a big fan of his work since I've been following him online for a few years, even bothering him via DM and email asking if he'd accept an international order. He's not set up to accommodate international orders yet, but maybe he'll be able to someday. Going through a normal proxy isn't viable since his jeans and jackets seem to sell out very quickly. So I was surprised to see these in BNWT state (you can see some residual chalk markings from where he was putting them together), unwashed and in my size for under retail! Honestly I debated posting photos of these, he's very opposed to resellers (there's a post on his blog about it), even banning anyone from purchasing again if he tracks down the serial number and ties it back to the original order. So hopefully I'm not shaking the hornets nets. It's hard to figure out what exactly these are (since he doesn't disclose the serial numbers), but I'm guessing they're a late 40s inspired pair. They even have a similar wonky stitch across the coin pocket similar to the recent SC45s. The denim is nice and hearty, and the stitching is pretty interesting. I'll need to get a better photo of the crotch construction, it's pretty interesting. The enamel coating on the buttons is pretty intense, even compared to FW. The backs of the buttons are also slightly indented along the top and bottom, hard to photograph but just an interesting observation. I'll probably keep these raw for awhile since I'm focusing on wearing other pairs pretty consistently right now, but it's nice to find something that I thought was unobtainable.

  13. I'll check it out.. not much really Edwin, unless i go 'artisan' i've worked my way through the range of 'off the shelf' nut butters.. i need to get TG on the proxy phone! I tried 'ManLife' on maynards recommendation.. the consistancy was way too runny for my liking, might have been a bad batch, there was a lot of surface oil which is usually a good sign but once i'd mixed it in, i scooped some out of the jar on the knife and it ran off the knife onto the chopping board.. just thick liquid, when i was eating it, it was sliding off the bread onto the plate (damn you maynard, insert shakey fist emoji) tasted great tho! I made bacon and maple syrup on a lightly toasted hotcross bun for Easter..

  15. DHL stopped shipping B2C to the US for orders > $800 because of the volatility over there, right now. https://www.dhl.com/us-en/home/important-information/2025/shipments-to-the-united-states-with-a-customs-value-exceeding-usd-800.html Acronym, as of a few months ago, exclusively DHL as their shipping partner, so they have no choice but to stop orders. Burning your country to the ground to cozy up to Putin & poisoning politically illiterate people's minds is one thing, but depriving you guys of your Acronym!? Does his tyranny know no end.....

  16. Someone had asked about longer type 1 jackets. This is one option. For size 4 (L/XL) in a one/wash with shoulders 51cm and chest 59cm it has a back length of 71cm (vs. say a WH or FWs in 42 or 44 with around 61cm). This is also offered for a very reasonable price of JPY 19,800. The denim is 14oz selvedge, apparently all made/produced in Japan: Kurashiki, Okayama. https://acidhouse.stores.jp/items/679c8667b859d3030c0ff020

  20. For people looking for denim chinos. I just saw, that Jelado will issue a denim version of their 41 chino. I've got the khaki 41 and am very happy with it. Great fabric, nice details and a comfy fit. The denim version uses their 10.5oz blue tag Last Resort denim, that they developed for their reproduction of the Lee 91J chore coat, so like the Jelt denim. They seem to be in pre-order now. https://jelado.com/products/jelado-41-denim-ag94341da?variant=49464600133920

  25. Spent a few hours on a ladder this weekend tearing down some invasive vines from the (also invasive, but much less work to upkeep) bamboo lining our side walkway. There was way more to it than I bargained for—probably 2–3 cubic yards, all told—and I didn’t even consider how barren it would leave my de facto WAYWT backdrop. Oh well, bamboo grows back all too fast once it’s not getting choked out. feat. Union Special, Tender Co., The Vanishing West, Tezomeya, Russell In other garden news, the irises I put in a few months ago are just starting up, and the delphiniums are just finishing for the season: (feat. vintage Cane’s x2 in the background) …and we’ve just moved some tomatoes and peppers from their starter pots into the ground out front, plus threw in some marigolds and extra tomato starters from the store for good measure

  36. The monthly wash (post) Six months into these, not much change apart from some small holes forming here and there and a snagged outseam, the back is a bit pathetic in terms of fading but these are worn for work and they are what they are..

  41. The lady wanted pizza this weekend, and I wanted a wash. This weekend’s weather was quite poor but got some time to air dry outside. Loving how comfortable this pair is and the weight of the fabric. Pretty much only pair in my rotation Monday- Friday. Already fraying on my right pocket (pocket knife carried everyday) so will have to manage something with that. edit: shot of the pizza

  42. Thank you @rodeo bill. The fabric was not cut off, only the pleats were fixed- front and back. The colour is already darker inside the pleats. The pleats make the shirt thicker and very comfortable to wear.

  43. I had noticed the beautiful indigo patina on the rough out side of favorite vintage painted belt before but I was today years old when I realized the buckle is designed to be instantly reversible. It seems it simply swings both ways. I can wear it either way without swapping the buckle. I won't do it often because I don't want to effect the perfect gloss or the paint too much. But how cool is that?

  46. This is my latest work, a briefcase/folio. This somehow has less pieces of leather than @Duke Mantee's bag - but with big pieces like this it's easier to have one piece of leather than having to do more long stitch lines. Especially when you're dumb like me and decided to use 2.7mm irons for a bag. Learned lots, got better at perlage (setting rivets and making them look not shit) and decided I like French stitching clams.

  48. Hey all. Here are my Warehouse 1101, worn regularly for about 18 months I think. Gotta love how the Banner denim evolves. I began wearing them a little before my eldest son was born in 2017 and discovered a whole new world of knee fades upon his arrival 😌… Jumping forward a few years, I’ve started wearing them again recently so will aim to get better shots of them on here later down the line.
