  1. Agreed with @Broark, the general consensus here seems to be sizing up for cinchback pairs. My pair of 147s does not have much hip flare at all and has never stretched much with a belt. Lean into the stove pipe look!
  2. https://buyee.jp/item/jdirectitems/auction/h1168544331?conversionType=jdirectitems_auction_DirectSearch Bootleggers 601 in 32x34 for 46,000 yen
  3. Agreed, and I am a slim guy so it is to be expected. Will still wear them regardless - great stove pipe leg in my opinion. Would love to see the fit on you once you get them back.
  4. Got the 30s from Bears’ restock last month (indigo dyed pocket tab) and don’t really care for the fit in the hips and crotch area. Cinched slightly and wearing a belt, might have benefited from sizing down one. Size 30, inseam hemmed to 30”
  5. That’s a good distinction that I overlooked, Maynard.
  6. Completely agree with you - what makes those worth so much money? Nobody needs goat skin leather on shoes like that. I like bits of the design, but I’m no fool willing to spend over $600 on something like that. And you are right about that kind of money fetching the real deal. Spent some time reading through the vintage Nike Wordpress site you linked a few comments back and plan to do more research today. I’m sure there are still deals to be had online if we look in the right places…
  7. I'm a fan of these from Margiela, especially the white and blue (sans the already dirty suede and faux worn-in look and egregious price tag)
  8. This is an understandable sentiment and helps to put the uglification of once-nice things into perspective
  9. Either a modern shoe in that style or a repro of something similar to them. Really focusing on how sleek the waffle racers were. The LD-1000 are a bit too chunky for my tastes, especially with the shape of the rear with the heel and sole meeting in that strange hourglass shape, but I'm still open to checking those out.
  10. Anyone plugged into the vintage Nike / sneaker world, primarily asking @Double 0 Soul, do you know of any shoes that would be a good modern version or substitute for the OG waffle racers? I know they were reproduced in the 2010s and some examples could probably be found, and I am aware of the Margiela Sprinters which I think look pretty sweet but carry an eye-watering price tag... Anyone have suggestions for brands or models to search for?
  11. Could be worth using a proxy, no?
  12. Colimbo, Cushman, maybe John Gluckow too. Are you open to duck canvas? That might give you more options, or some black chinos like the Buzz Rickson William Gibson pants?
  13. Ooe SOA03 and an incredible belt from Duke
  14. Nice hike to Blackstar Canyon Falls in Socal. Wearing Ooe Yofukuten SOA03 and Blundstones and a Papa Nui A3 cap in their Amoskeag denim
