I recently picked up a cheap iPod (4th Gen Classic Mono) and installed a new battery. The nostalgia is real (was my first ever iPod after coming from MiniDisc), but on a recent trip to the UK and Portugal, it was nice to only have music and not have other distractions from apps on an iDevice. Planning on picking up some of the other ones I owned throughout the years as well. I'm also planning on finding my old MD player, too; resurgence in all these devices is starting to pick up. Denimes make a nice contrast though.3 points

thanks! I'm wearing the exact same cut jeans as these but made by yamane industries and in no.0 denim. In 16 months i should have comparison photos lol3 points

Only half of it was done in jeans and the rest was done in sweatpants or else, also not done today but moreso over the last 9 months. I finished a sweater over the weekend. Raglan top down construction, seamless and knit on the round, 100% wool, and a turtleneck-ish collar. Took inspiration from arans on the braids, but not as complex as your typical aran knit. Really proud since it's my first piece with braiding and any break from simple right or left right patterns. The pattern on the sleeves came natural as a help for sizing them down for the cuffs, same for the sides.3 points

Looking great @HGS. My 30's jacket arrived yesterday. Size 42 is perfect. I'll get some pics soon.2 points

^ The way the pattern is cut makes all the difference. This is why some brands’ jeans (like Sugar Cane or Warehouse) seem to fit almost everyone pretty well and some brands’ jeans (like ONI or N&F) manage to fit almost no one: patterning and grading are really not straightforward. It’s not possible to tell how jeans (a 3D object) will fit—or how two pairs of jeans will compare to each other—based on a few 1D measurements any more than it’s possible to look at a few measurements and use that to produce a functioning pattern for a pair of jeans. That said, if you’re just looking at how the legs fit, you’re at a pretty big advantage here since both pairs are cut with straight outseams to accommodate the edges of the denim. If they hit your crotch at the same point (which, admittedly, is a pretty big if), you should be able to tell everything about how they’ll fit your legs by separately measuring the widths of the front and back panels at a few places. My bet would be that one pair has an inseam that sits appreciably farther forward than the other’s, towards the crotch—and that they’re probably cut with fairly different curves through the crotch and seat.2 points

These are still for sale—willing to part with each of them for $90 or so if you want to make an offer. I want to get these out of my closet and to someone who will wear them! Also adding a pair of Resolute 714 in size 33 × 32 to this list: These have been washed once after receiving them to get any shrink out but never worn more than just to try on. The cut just doesn't work for me unfortunately. Will part with these for $130 OBO. Measurements: Waist 32 Front rise 11.25 Back rise 14.25 Thigh crotch 12.5 Thigh 1” 12.25 Thigh 10cm 11.125 Knee 12” 9.125 Hem 8 Inseam 29.251 point

@Thanks_M8 super cool. Did you use one of those knitting needles with a piece of cord attached to them? Fits you perfect my mom used to knit jumpers for me and my sister all the time.1 point

I just picked up a couple of polos -- great colors and incredible heavy, dry pique fabric...1 point

Too faded?! Those are perfect! But there is definitely a tipping point around that area for everyone. Great job with those!1 point

Thanks, @Dr_Heech + @Alec Leamas! Yeah, we’re really pleased with it, and can’t wait to move in (packing’s already in full swing). We’ve been searching on and off for the better part of a year, now. Facing the likely reality that we’ll be lifelong renters (if we want to continue living around here) has made it feel really important to find somewhere that we could see ourselves staying long-term—and this place really does tick all of the boxes, I think. In the end, it’s a little above our current budget, but the strong rent control laws here mean that finding a good place sooner rather than later could mean paying a lot less over the next 10+ years, even if it means we get to save a little less now…or so we’re telling ourselves. Anyway, yeah, maybe once we get settled I’ll post a bit of a tour. It’s a really lovely, well cared for ‘20s-ish little bungalow.1 point
