Not sure about the fits, but they should be pretty similar. Judging by the measurements, the 710s have a slightly more tapered leg.

i've had 710 and the 3001. if you size down 1 for the 710, it'll be pretty similar. although the 3001 will be much slimmer in the thigh. at least that's how it was for me. I'm wearing lot 12

S5000BK never had hidden arcs (if you mean the ones that will fade 'into' the backpocket). they will come with black arcs. Samurai just announced that they made new ones and yes, you will get them most likely with the nlack arcs in the US

to my knowledge there has never been a 5000bk with hidden arcs , the 710bk's had then but they were a 2008 special , you could try yahoo auctions

I have a pair of size 31 1001 and went with a size 30 in the 710. The waist is slimmer initially in the 710 but within a week it stretched out. The thighs are pretty much the same and well slimmer from the knee down. My 710s are lot 13.
