not much stuff to show on the life side of things. I've been to Brittany France to pick up a new flute. The guy who made it is an absolute character. He's close to retirement, and works as little as possible (and I don't blame him for that!). Never had a website, never had to promote himself much too. Makes beautiful, quirky, instruments, with a very nice design too. Great guy too. He lives in a very beautiful and remote area of north Brittanny. here's the man, I just edited his face as I think he wouldn't be very happy to be featured on a raw denim forum! pic of the machine itself (sorry WOM not featured!) this is perhaps my favourite detail. It's a knot in the wood, so it may be seen as a defect actually, but it looks like an eye, and it's on the outer side of the instrument. Reminds me of the eye of Sauron Released a new album too, just a couple weeks ago. It's here if anyone wants to give it a spin.15 points

hello there! Apologies for being a bit MIA @UkeNo! congrats! You will always remember these jeans as the jeans you were wearing when your kid was born! Ha! first proper update. Finally after much struggling I've managed to loose some weight and I was brave enough to give the jeans a proper 40° C right side out wash. Pretty happy with the results, I think I have enough contrast now to start washing very frequently. I absolutely adore these jeans! Probs my favourite jean cut. I forgot how hard is to properly capture color with a camera. It's been awhile! @beautiful_FrEaK fab marbling action going!14 points

Posting these following a short discussion in the general questions thread. I was looking for some pleated chinos that were available in these three colours. They’re Spellbound French Trousers. Super nice fabric, softens up really good after a wash. Very high waisted and pretty wide leg but they’re exactly what I was looking for. Tried to do different outfits to show how versatile they are:5 points

Since there isn’t a dedicated thread about downsizing the collection, I’ll share here. Over the past year, I sold a few items — among them my very first pair of Japanese jeans, from Samurai, as well as a pair from Iron Heart — both of which I’d long since outgrown. There have been no new denim purchases, as I’m moving toward optimizing the collection. While years ago I was interested in trying out a variety of brands, I’ve now settled on a focus around just a few — primarily Full Count, Ooe Yofukuten, and Freewheelers.5 points

Thank you for this @merzbot! I want to do a superfuture-level rundown on the Working SKEWed jeans in the next week or so, but actually I just came on to show some details of the 900 Bull Denim, so good timing. This fabric is woven with a 100% cotton warp and a 50/50 wool/hemp weft. Generally speaking, dyes react differently with cellulose fibres (eg cotton, linen) and protein fibres (eg wool, silk), and even more generally speaking dyes stick better to protein than to cellulose. This can be quite subtle, for example with woad, where the blue is relatively deep across all the fibres in the fabric (with the original undyed fabric below): the khaki, particularly, took to the wool much more readily than to the cotton or hemp, creating a sort of turquoise wool fuzz over the top of a paler green cotton/hemp ground: lastly, though, here's a version which is a little more subtle, but which I'm really excited by. This is dyed hadal blue with a formula that reacts only with wool, so that the cotton and hemp remain completely undyed. It gives the effect of a fabric woven with an undyed warp and a melange fibre dyed warp, where dyed wool is spun with undyed hemp, but all with a single garment dye. The jacket reads as denim, but with the softness and lightness of the bull denim cloth.4 points

Thanks yeah good call. I might actually just leave it, they’re such nice pants and to be honest once they’ve had a few wears it’ll possibly settle a lot. It’s still a pretty stiff fabric. Also making sure they’re worn high enough helps. I’m used to wearing high waisted but it seems more crucial to keep these at the right height for the right silhouette. I’ll post some pics in them in WAYWT at some point.2 points

WORKING has been landing at stockists the last few weeks. SKEWed x WORKINGWORKING PULLOVER JACKET(PINK) - The Tastemakers & Co. ONLINE SHOP TENDER STORES | WORKING SLACK JEAN This project really excites me. It's neat to the see the influence of Rob's time at Stone Island and CP Company showing in the designs. My introduction to this world came while trawling the internet in the early 2000s for 'British streetwear' and discovering Jeff Griffin Studio 😄 Of the recent Type 900 Jackets, the Turquoise and Prussian Blue are my picks. The way the olivewood buttons contrast with each shade is gorgeous!2 points

This article is well worth a read: Inside the Other Paris Fashion Week | GQ Of the brands/designers mentioned, I'd guess Man-tle and Evan Kinori would be right up your wicket. They both make use of small batch/one off/deadstock textiles (though EK seems to be working to develop his own fabrics now). The aforementioned Tender does this to great effect with the Weaver's Stock garments. While you'll see the same patterns/designs from these brands reappearing over the years, the use of deadstock fabrics gives each collection an ephemeral nature. Neighbour stocks most of the brands mentioned in this discussion: Shirts Mens – Neighbour Also, @tooth big up to BlkBlu!2 points

@Fooleo I might be interested in those. Am I remembering right that their pocket bags aren’t as shallow as the standard Warehouse fare?1 point

Thanks! Yeah these are ones. The size down was way too tight on the waist and I just wanted to very slightly slim some of the billowing top. I warm washed them and although I didn’t get any shrinkage (a good thing), it softened the fabric enough that they just drape more attractively overall.1 point

hahaha... there should be enough there to see me through to the other side... but things don't always work out as 'intended' so I have license to act as the situation requires 😉1 point

One of my very favorite finds ever and perhaps one of the most historically significant. 1980s People Power Unarmed Forces of the Philippines T shirt. The People Power Revolution, also known as the EDSA Revolution or the February Revolution, were a series of popular demonstrations in the Philippines mostly in Metro Manila, from February 22 to 25, 1986. There was a sustained campaign of civil resistance against regime violence and electoral fraud. The nonviolent revolution led to the departure of Ferdinand Marcos, the end of his 20-year dictatorship and the restoration of democracy in the Philippines. Just a reminder that sustained non violent protest and strikes are some of the only actions that have ever toppled an authoritarian regime.1 point

This is the latest 1101 with a new denim worn just enough to show the fading. This denim feels more true to a Big E 501 than previous versions where a 1930s banner denim was used on a 60s/70s Big E model. This denim really reminds me of what I’ve seen on 70s Type 3 jackets, and I wish I picked up one of the Warehouse models1 point

DHL stopped shipping B2C to the US for orders > $800 because of the volatility over there, right now. https://www.dhl.com/us-en/home/important-information/2025/shipments-to-the-united-states-with-a-customs-value-exceeding-usd-800.html Acronym, as of a few months ago, exclusively DHL as their shipping partner, so they have no choice but to stop orders. Burning your country to the ground to cozy up to Putin & poisoning politically illiterate people's minds is one thing, but depriving you guys of your Acronym!? Does his tyranny know no end.....1 point
