@Mr Black did some repairs for me recently.. i was really happy with his service. I always patch / darn my own jeans by hand but i'm never 100% happy with the results so when these FW-47s blew out in the crotch around a decade ago.. i put them on ice until i found an alternative to my shitty patch n' darn... This is much better! This M11026 needed the box stitching replacing over the pleats.. sadly neither of us had the forethought to photograph the 'before' .. i suspect that whoever bought this back in the 90s, it didn't fit so they unpicked the box stitching, it still didn't work so they put it into storage for 30yrs.. but before they listed it on Marcari, they stitched back over the pleats.. I quite liked their wonky, asymmetrical box stitch but what i didn't like was their choice of thread, although it was a good colour match to the 2 shades of copper thread used to construct the jacket.. the thickness / guage was too thin.. Mr B posted me some samples of what he had in stock, the colour match was good but the thickness still wasn't quite right.. after some weeks of searching, he eventually managed to source the correct thickness and colour of thread Sample thread above, existing, below ..finished result Thanks Martin! ..and here are a couple of my recent repairs.. I've hand darned a small hole in this 75yr old Champion sweatshirt Its just above the hip so out of sight I've sewed the arse seem of these CSF .. and darned a few small blowouts here and there .. i'm getting better lads15 points

Thank you … thank you very much indeed. I mentioned somewhere here earlier, I’ve made a couple of hundred belts after hoping I might have made a couple - full stop … you (and others) put your trust and hard earned dollars into my project - I remember every single belt for every single reason, that’s my privilege13 points

@Duke Mantee An honor to’ve been among the first & among the last Big ups to you for finding a cool niche for yourself, building up a great skill set, and getting out on your own terms—even any one of those alone would be a big accomplishment5 points

@julian-wolf, We took the big roads from Vegas to Zion, 15 out of Vegas to get to Valley of Fire and then 9 off of 15 to get out to Zion. Today we left Zion and ran 59 out of Utah onto 389 in Arizona to 89a to go through Kaibab National Forest, down into Marble Valley and up to Page on 89. Postcard views the entire ride.4 points

@vIGGiou riou, it's been amazing so far. Nothing compared with the views and experience you get backpacking it like @julian-wolf, but stunning nonetheless. As a fun aside, a young woman shouted me out as the "best dressed man on the trail" yesterday. Lol. We're heading to Page, AZ getting our first glimpse of the Colorado River and Grand Canyon over the Historic Navajo Bridge today.4 points

Through a second proper wash. They're doing what jeans do. I was surprised when people initially said these were fast faders. I certainly haven't experienced that. Interesting to see how that opinion has shifted. I'd put them in the neither fast nor slow, but just normal jeans in that regard. In fact, that's what I love about this pair so much. It's just a standard, no frills '50s straight that I oversized for fit. They're fading that way too. We're about to head out to Vegas, Zion, Grand Canyon, Route 66 and back to Vegas on a motorcycle trip next week. Should be fun to see how the road wear through the desert affects them. For now, here's some post-wash photos in the best light I've been able to get lately, admittedly not good. Haha.3 points

Today I tragically (1) got bit by the chainring of my job’s e-cargo bike. I hadn’t realized my double-cuff had come undone and it happened so fast! I’m fishing for some inspiration on a suitable repair for this lil hole. Not a lot of material is missing; it’s mostly a rip, but it falls right amidst the fold where I cuff sometimes. I am not great with a sewing machine, but can hand stitch fine. I’m also planning to page back through this thread but wanted to fire this question off while it was on my mind. Pants are Warehouse 1001.1 point

Been after these for some time now, finally caught the restock. Timeworn Clothing / Butcher Products deck sneakers, compared to the terrible US Rubber Co. ones I got a few years back these feel great. I really like the sneakers from TWC and appreciate that they make them up to size US12! I like their clothes too but sometimes it's a little too cosplay for me.1 point
