  1. Nearly dry. Did some trimming. Lost 3.5" both in waist and inseam after the wash. The rest shrunk nicely as well. Fit pics tomorrow 🤪

  5. My girlfriend got me the Flat Head FN-OJ-D102 blanket lined jacket while we were in Japan. I previously had the Momotaro x Okayama Denim "Frost" type II blanket lined jacket and never liked how it fit. I put this one on in the Jingumae shop and fell in love, fits absolutely perfect. I've been wearing it almost every day since November, its been nice since we've had a dry & cold winter in the Pacific Northwest. Only gripe is no side pockets but I can get over that, I've been wearing gloves instead

  7. @aho, sort of, but different? The 0105 is decisively anti-fit, but doesn't pose this seat fit issue (TTS or +1 in my experience). I also notice the fit issue on these with a tight waist. The anti-fit would apply in my case as they're deliberately oversized, but to have that fit issue on tighter fits seems odd. Again, not trying to sew seeds of dissatisfaction here at all. I am mainly responding to bF's request for impressions of the jeans as the brand is completely new to all of us here. What are your thoughts on the fits you're seeing?

  9. & After their soak… They shrunk quite a bit! The waist is tight for now, but I have a feeling they’ll fit very well after a few days’ wear. Anyway, I needed an excuse to get my waist line back to where it was a year or two ago…

  10. Yeah there are a few models at play here I hadn't noticed the issuette Jared has pointed out on any of the jeans but the guy has a keen eye. It'll be interesting to see how you feel about this quirk over time as the jeans settle down. Agreeing with bF, Simo said to me while he hopes everyone really likes the jeans, he's also very interested in any constructive feedback to make his product even better. I think this sits in that camp. fwiw Jared, I think your slightly oversized fit on the 5150s looks great... well thought out that was. Ditto yours aho. I want me some big WoM jeans now so I'm cold-washing when I get to it.

  11. Genuine question, isn't this just what we used to call "anti fit"?

  12. ^ Couching my post as someone here may have more accurate and informed info than me… below is my own visual comparison between the s43 and 46 that I own / have been wearing for the past year and comparing that to the fit pics of the s45 at Toyo. I haven’t seen measurements for the s45 posted anywhere. A few months ago I reached out to Barnstormer re: measurements and asked if they had any idea and they said they didn’t. With that, and I could be way off here, but judging by the fit at the Toyo link below it looks like the s1945 are full in the top block and thighs with a slight taper from the knee down. The s43 is pretty straight and full throughout and the 46 has slimmer top block and thighs with slight taper from knee down. I have both the s43 and 46 and looking at the pics the s45 appears to merge those 2 cuts, but again, that’s just me making a visual comparison based on the fit pics at Toyo along with how the 43 and 46 fit me… In any case, I’m looking forward to seeing actual measurements and since I haven’t that what’s really been keeping me from preordering. https://store.toyo-enterprise.co.jp/smartphone/detail.html?id=000000002625

  13. They shrank perfectly. -3" in the waist to a 32" waist. Leg opening came down to 8.5" from 9". There's a bit of a pattern issue in the seat shape and pockets as I've seen in others' photos as well as my fit, but nothing that ruins the fit. Just a little pattern issue that could be addressed going forward with WoM. Edit: pocket bags are also ~1" too shallow for my liking. Again, small issue, but worth noting.

  14. Beautifully made, comfortable jeans. I'm looking more Farmer John than Eddie Van Halen here, but a wash will help, as would his Frankenstrat.

  16. Re the new SCSC 1945 jacket v 1943 jacket S1945 jacket will be little slimmer than S1943 that is in the pit to pit. S1945 sleeves are little shorter than S1943. But S1945 shoulder is little wider than S1943

  19. Further reminder that this denim hobby is a slow game (not that we need it) The reason the worn-in pic looks totally staged is because it is 😃 My 'photographer' teenage son landed a massive fluke, I mean deliberate picture with near identical foot position and jacket bluster due to the right to left wind in the park (no, it's not a trial for Instagram 😉 and no idea what app you use to collate 2 pictures)!! Same kit, except the jeans have been hemmed and the chambray is different Oh and the people on the bench... they'd gone and we couldn't find them 3 years (and a bit) apart, Dec 2021 to Jan 2025... slow game indeed... OK ok I hear you... I'll go back to standing in front of a wall again next time 😉

  20. They fit perfect as-is, but I don’t think I’ll mind them slimmed down some, either Anyway, doing something I haven’t in a few years and just giving them a hot hot bath to start things off!

  23. My 5150's have been through the wash and they're looking mighty fine! Pre and post as follows: W35 / L30 Waist: 17" / 15 1/2" FR: 13" / 12" BR: 17" / 16" Thigh: 13" / 12 1/2" Inseam: 30" / 27 1/2" They've got more of a pronounced taper than I was expecting, which I like the look of - fit pics will be presented tomorrow, I didn't get any pre-wash!

  24. This is tough because this is 4 (?) different patterns being tested here too, right? And then for me, I really don’t feel I can assess fit from raws until I’ve had a good week or two in the jeans and things have settled out a bit. But, having gotten a 30’s fit and erring on the larger of the two sizes I was debating, I’m not ready to say I would take any out of the seat. It’s not snug, but if I’d wanted that I wouldn’t have chosen the size nor the 30’s fit - and when you get a bit looser these things are all less consequential. I think the seat is probably a little more fitted than 0105’s with a similar waist - which are definitely anti-fit. I find this 30’s cut sort of in between.

  25. Any feedback is good feedback. Simone is lurking and observes us. For now, it would say a bigger/oversized size works better with his jeans. At least based on the pics I saw so far.

  28. And here are three generations of Chippewa “engineer” boots (which were sometimes sold under L.L. Bean branding). These are my work horses and have been out of production for a number of years, so I try to keep a pair always in reserve from eBay. i’ve lost track a little bit of the years, but basically, from right to left: (1) the first pair I bought, worn often for about 10 years (reheeled once) and now my yard boots, (2) that pair’s replacement and currently in regular use for the last 8 years or so, and (3) the lightly used pair waiting for their turn on regular duty.

  29. No, it's kind of the opposite. Something like where the bottom third of the pocket down to just below, the pattern doesn't remove enough fabric from the seat between the pocket and back rise seam if that makes sense. I am not a pattern maker, so the solution is above my paygrade. I just noticed it's a bit unflattering between the pockets and below on the seat for quite a few of us. Thankfully not hungry bum though. Well, I don't think I've seen bF's back shots yet...

  30. Someone mentioned that it might be cheaper to fly to Rome to collect the jeans in person. I didn’t actually think that was true until I looked it up when having my coffee this morning. I live about 25mins from the airport… There would even be change for a coffee. I’m doing local pick up next time 😁

  44. I ordered this Celluloid/Warehouse anniversary jacket - the WW2 Tailor jacket - in early 2024 and it finally came. It’s a coarse/rough/chunky feeling denim, quite dark, unwashed. AFAIK They call it their WW2 denim. When I ordered I somehow missed the bit about the delivery date and thought it was in stock, only to find out it was going to be the better part of a year. Color is most accurate in the close up picture of the placket and the sleeve. https://www.celluloid1984.com/?pid=180239828 It’s sort of combination of Duck Digger and Dead Stock Blue. Apparently they only made 60 of them. I’m a little nervous about the shrunk fit in the shoulders, but everywhere else definitely needs the shrink. This one really was sort of a shot in the dark but it was too unique a piece for me to pass up when it came out. It’s funny how tastes slowly change - I’m not sure I would order it now if it popped up, but I’m not mad that it’s finally here. This doesn’t count as a 2025 buy! If it doesn’t shrink up to a good fit throughout I will probably let it go, but I’m hoping it does!
