Here's a little update on my FC1100-10 - 16oz, Australian cotton, WWII from around 2010...

...easily, one of my favorite pairs at the moment. Makes me wish I had another pair in the same denim up my sleeves!

I haven't actually measured, but I did try on the OW version before buying the raw.  I'd say after the 3rd wash or so they pretty much fit me like the OW in the store.  Of course they stretch back out a good deal within a couple week post-washing.  That's with warm water machine wash, air dry, xx denim.

I know the common advice is to size down with FC, but has anyone tried sizing up? I think I'd prefer the rise on a size 33 1105/1 (I have very long legs), but I'm worried the waist being ludicrously big after some wear.

I've been able to squeeze into a OW size 31 1101, but they were uncomfortably tight and the fit sucked.

Yep, I would have thought you'd be swimming in the waist if you size up. Perhaps a stupid question, but have you tried a size 32 as a happy medium?

Ha, that's a great question. I should have clarified that BiG didn't have the 1101 in a size 32. They did have the 1105 in that size, though, and I thought the rise was a little low.

Decisions, decisions..

PS Thanks to everyone who has responded so far!

Rise on my size 36 0105 after several washes, 12 1/2". Rise on one wash size 36 0105 according to BiG, 11 3/4". I'd check some other vendors measurements before considering skipping over the size 32, because the only thing BiG got right on the one wash 0105, compared to my jeans, is the waist.
