633 is a great cut, one of the best, IMO. The amount of taper from knee to hem varies between runs. I have the 633-XHS and the hem is around 8", which is right where I prefer it to be. Some runs have too much taper, IMO.

888 has too high of a rise for me.

Agreed! Yeah, I’ve ran through a couple of cuts. First pair were apc PS, with the double downsize they were just way too tight for me to do anything. I had a couple pairs of onis but relax tapered was so loose and then I got these. I guess third time is the charm. But yeah, like I said i really wish there were diff weights in the black for 633 I love the hell out of this cut. I can’t wear indigo because of work. I’ve given the overdye some thought but I don’t know how id feel rocking double OD whenever I pick up my jacket.

Good news, we have 633SBG in the pipeline for spring of 2022.

I'm curious, does anyone know if Iron Heart ever sold denim banners to the public? I see pictures of them on the internet floating around and wondered if they ever had them for sale of if they were sent to retailers only.

Pretty sure the banners were for retailers only

How do the 633 differ to the 888

Both are based on the 634, which is a straight cut with medium rise.. The 633 is exclusive to SE. It's the 634 rise and thigh, with taper from knee to hem. The 888 has the same thigh dimensions as the 634, with some taper from the knee to hem, but not as much as the 633, and a higher rise. When the 888 was released a few years ago, there were a lot of folks saying it had more room in the thigh than the 888. Giles never mentioned that in the description.

So my iron hearts had starting signs of a crotch blowout and I did a little home repair. This is my very first time repairing denim and I was a little hesitant about doing so but after the results I’m very satisfied.

here are some pictures of the repair (I don’t have before pics sorry.)

three spots, two on the seam and one smaller one towards the back. After doing this I threw these in the wash.

these have about 10 months or so of extreme religious wear. 1 wash 2 soaks. IHxSE 633 14bb

Oh also, side note I picked up my holy grail jacket on Friday second hand. A lightly worn ihse od type III 18oz in my size. I’m beyond stoked. I’ve been waiting for a restock on these for a couple of years now.

A little pickup I made last week. My personal holy grail jacket. SEXIH07IIIBK2 ( modified type III 18oz od)
Snagged this for a great price. I've been waiting for a restock of this jacket for about two years now. I got info from Kiya they there was going to be a restock of these this year (22) so I had my hopes up from 2021 as this was pretty much my final piece that I was looking for in terms of jackets. So every now and then I'd browse around and see if someone had one second hand they were selling but I don't see a lot of these around.  I managed to get this from someone on discord. It was definitely worn but not too crazy. But anyways, I'm in love with this jacket. The search for this jacket made it all that much better when I finally got it. Fits amazing too, way better than my Caustic wave OD.

Good stuff @Neilltheone! Did you get much stretch out of your 633 14bb? I just picked up a pair and I'm curious as to what to expect.

Quick fit pic of my 633 14bb. I was in between sizes and went with the larger size (size 33) for more comfort. Pretty happy with the fit.

Hey! I didn't get that much stretch out of mine. Maybe 0.5 or so? Mostly in the waist, and the thigh. Other than that nothing too crazy or alarming. Fit looks good.

So Im planning to make a trip to SE at the end of the month since I saw they dropped the 8301s. I was in the market for some new jeans and I was just going to get them instore, couldn't wait ordered them online and they just came in today. These things are so sick. Also I think this is the sickest collab patch from them by far. Gonna try to get some fit pics tomorrow after work and see how these fit. I compared the measurements to the 633 but these look like they have more taper. Also big props for the sticker, I don't know if my 633's came with one when I got them.

Just some pics I snapped after a wash on my 633's I need to take these to SE and get them properly repaired. Tears were happening under previous repairs I had done, as I suspected since it was my first time messing around darning. Also wanted to take pics of my jacket too (IHxSE 18z OD), starting to see a lot more noticeable fading after a couple of months. I stopped wearing my 3s OD in favor of this and it doesn't disappoint. I think by the end of the year i'll give it a proper wash and see what it looks like after.

Does anyone have experience with the 18oz OD denim? I bot some 301s from the SE warehouse sale. I have some old 21oz 301s in 33 that are loose on me now even when coming fresh out of a hot wash so I went with 31 on these expecting them to be tight and stretch to perfect size. When I got them I could barely get them on, after a couple hours wearing them around the house I could button them all the way. Today is day 2 and I could button them all the way much easier than yesterday and do some light squats/lunges. They are still too tight but based on rate of progress thus far I am feeling ok about them? From the description it seems that the overdying process inflicts max shrinkage so I am hopeful that means I can get some more stretch out of them.. I can post some fit pics later but curious if anyone else has experience with this denim as a quick skim of this thread didn't turn up much.

Edit: thanks for feedback! Bummed these wont work

These look MEGA tight, they will definitely not stretch out two sizes, max you're going to get is around 0.5-1" in the waist and thighs. Seeing is that you cannot return these, I would look into selling your pair and sizing up into something else, but seeing is that OD stuff is hard to come by it will be extremely hard to find someone selling 33+ 8301sod's.

Thought I'd post a Post wash of my Iron Heart OD. Got a new pin (thanks SESF team) , sent my 633's in for proper repair ( my home repairs started falling apart)  And also got the chance to meet the man himself, Kiya.

Super cool dude, was really nice to finally meet, talk cool clothes, denim, yo-yo's, knives, and most importantly talk printers and copiers. Rollers son.

Also it's just super nice to come hang out and chat it up.

I'm a big fan of the IH 1955S, which has a comfortably wide leg. IH just released a limited edition in their new slubby fabric, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of The Shop in Vancouver, so I decided to order a pair. They're lovely and I'm looking forward to wearing them (and having them hemmed).

My 888s-142's that I thrifted for $30. They were raw or one wash when I got them. My favorite jeans ever. Best fit for me and the denim is just the right weight (14oz). As perfect as they are for me, I'd have a hard time spending $300+ for a pair.
