SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)

They are both "raw". The first one is the slim jim dry broken, its just broken twill instead of right hand twill - all slim jims circa 2003/4 had broken twill then it switched to ola denim for a while but yeah they are back now.

The 2nd pair are dry blacks - indigo raw jeans overdyed in black - so its not a true black but still darker than the indigos. Oh, and they fade very very slowly but do eventually fade.

what are the differences between raw/dry and one-wash? Sizes? Inseam? and etc?

- i tried to search for it in the forum but couldn't...

Raw and one-wash are just that...raw hasn't been washed, and one-wash has been washed once.

Sizes, etc. all vary depending on the pair of jeans...typically if a pair is available in both raw and one-wash, the one-wash will have smaller dimensions because they're taken care of the initial shrinkage for you.

Hi, Got a pair of Japanese selvage Duffer jeans I bought at a sample sale some time ago.

On reflection, I think they're a bit too wide in the Knee/hem for my liking. Does anyone know if it's possible/easy for a good quality tailor to take apart the inner seam, reshape the leg slightly and put things together again in the same format it came, or would specialist equpment be needed to replicate the stitching.

Many thanks

Martin

For a good tailor this shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure that the tailor really understands what you want, cause possibilities are that he ends up cutting off the selvage seam.

are the jeans sold by this seller on ebay legit/authentics? here is his auctions: http://stores.ebay.com/mixstreet_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ0QQftidZ2QQtZkm

the jeans looks good in the pics and want to buy a pair but not sure of their authenticity.

please help thanks!

Those look shady. Possibly some are factory seconds, some are legit. And some look absolutely fake. For example that 1944 jeans seems to be without selvage and with too bright patch.

That would result in brick thru window:cool:

(joking of course)

Hot-soaked them for 2 hrs. They lost around 3 inches in length when measured after hang drying.

I'm going to hem them soon and I'm wondering if I should soak them again to make sure all the sizing is set...I wouldn't want the length to shrink in the future and end up with jeans that are too short.

Any thoughts?

that is going to be 97% of the shrinking that you should expect, they will however shrink when you wash again but that will be because they have stretched, nothing to worry about , but if you are still worried for future washing just wash in room temp. or cold water.
