A quick update before third wash. These haven't seen as much wear as they might have, because after exchanging the 33s when they were too small, I lost lots of weight and now the 34s are too big in the waist. But with the contest nearing the finish line and having acquired a decent belt, I've been inspired to stick with them again.

For me the reason why I only upload fade pics is because these jeans have turned into my 9-5, Monday to Friday work jeans. Partly because of the competition but partly because I have other brands I love such as Roy, Ooe, Mister Freedom, Warehouse to name just a few. If I go anywhere or do anything that is not work related it will be in those jeans. Despite being a slow fader compare to other awesome examples I just can’t commit to one pair. That and I kind of forget about this forum when I’m out and about. Doh!

Enjoying everyone’s posts - many different looking shades and fades. 
Here’s my updates after their wash - more minor but still interesting as I compare them with my other jeans.

takjng the photos recently - and seeing other peoples’ - have really reminded me how difficult it is to capture the colours well :  - the different lighting makes a big difference. But dont the white and blue warps and wefts as you get much closer, throw the phone camera off far more than expected?? - it often appears to bring out a sheen on the pic that just isn’t what you see in real life…

^ Ha - you're too kind @Newman  - they are among the darker of the ones on here probably - but they do look different (and show the lighter parts better) outside - sun also making quite a difference to both pics and to my eye..

The top picture makes them look a bit lighter than they are - but also does capture the faded parts of the leg... I think washed 4 times now....

It's been too hot to contemplate wearing jeans for a while now – but when we finally got a chance to go to the coast (after a year and two postponements!) I made sure I took the TCBs along for the ride. I noticed a great rock platform in a secluded bay and made a note to return before leaving; when I came back to take the photos the tide was up higher than I'd expected (or than it ever looked like it would go, judging from previous high-water marks) and there was quite a bit of water over my feet as I looked for dry locations.

A good deal of the wear on the jeans is due to contact with sandstone (a popular building material in Sydney), and frequent washing – I wanted to hold out a little longer between washes, but lockdowns, heat and humidity dictated that they be given a hot wash every couple of weeks. Once we updated our washing machine and could reliably wash at 60ºC, the patch curled up and died. I rather like the dark rectangle left behind. Overall, they've ended up with what I usually think of as a "vintage"-style fade, much like the 501s I sought when sifting through the Oxford St vintage stores in the 80s.

When I got back from taking the photos, my wife said "Where were you? Did you know there's a tsunami warning?"... explained a few things. Typical that I'd be the only bonehead on a rock platform under those conditions. And that I'd be trying to find forms in nature that complemented my sick fades...

Little update I feel like I’m at the stage where my jeans our not fading anymore but I’m happy with my results,feels weird we made it to the end of the contest now

The area around the side stitch has also been torn.

It may not work as work clothes ...

It's just damage.

I can't even see my beloved patch
