I don't recall the J72-DS having a zipper closure on the front as depicted in the -AK version. Seems like an added detail, albeit a questionable one.

no it didn't, the dryskin version had a small button closure. despite the obvious visual difference, i can see why its still referred to as j72. They've exchanged the button closure for something more appropriate for the winter.

@segue I'm guessing it's pertex quantum pro. Seems to be comparable windstopper, except that pertex has qualities that make it more appropriate for cold climates.

The j1a Errolson has been wearing is NOT PB nor FO. It is a new experimental fabric that has a micro grid backer and a similar outer to the inner paclite membrane. Feels almost like windstopper active (and Errolson lost the hood which is why he is wearing the volt hood lol)

In terms of the actual designs I’m inclined to agree, but the variety of fabrics is really exciting to me. Really looking forward to seeing these in the flesh, and to the community snaps and reviews!

Excited about the variety of fabrics being used this season. Might try and pickup a j72 to use as an insulator since copping a j58 is becoming less likely by the day. I’m very interested in the gaiter offerings as well but they’ll fly off the site so who’s knows if I’ll be able to cop.
