Dropped by my long-time favorite pub yesterday—Schmidt’s, in Albany, for anyone in the area—for a couple pints, plus a pizza (not pictured) from another favorite joint over on that side of town. Always a great feel to the place, which doubles as a tobacconist (or maybe it doubles as a pub). They keep fresh Old Speckled Hen on tap, my consistent go-to—but also usually have one or two good Belgians, often from my old favorite Quebecois brewery Unibroue. The pictured table is incidentally where I wrote a good chunk of my thesis, a couple of years ago now.13 points

Good. Probably the type 1 Lot 231XX-47 (1947 MODEL) is also a different denim, i.e. the Kurabo brownish weft Banner denim.2 points

So I was to'ing and fro'ing on whether to get a size 42 or a 44 in the Powerwear heavyweight sweatshirt (#2434007) I have FW jackets in size 44 and size 46, so logic says a size 44 in sweatshirts should be good However, for me, the sweatshirt measurements tend to look, or be, generous... though it depends how you want them to fit Also, I'd previously got the Lot #2334011 sweatshirt in size 44 without consulting anyone and it's anomalously massive, even after washing it at 90C and sing the dryer (yes, that's another story) Seiichiro had the idea of sending me both 42 and 44 to help me choose; and asked me to post the comparison (top service from Seiichiro, as always btw). I've never posted on IG so here we go on Sufu I know other Sufu'ers get more shrink from their wash/dry methods, so my measurements are a guide to be used with caution The pictures are pre-wash 42, pre-wash 44 and then washed 42 Anyhow, happy with the size 42 and it seems the right one for me in Freewheelers sweatshirts Size 42 pre-wash / raw Size 44 pre-wash / raw Measurements chart - measurements can vary depending who is taking them - main take-away here is the relative change Ta-da... settled on size 42 And then the bad prince got locked up in the dungeon... and they all lived happily ever after. They really always put out the best samplers & mixtapes The “Stones Throw 101” double feature from ca. 2004 (maybe emceed by Peanut Butter Wolf??) in particular has been a long-time favorite; some of the Madlib mixes on there are head & shoulders above the official album versions…plus my home town gets a little shout out1 point

Shame on me, this is my first update! I *LOVE* these jeans, they're flattering and comfortable. I have missed one single day since the beginning, I was sick and stayed in bed most of that day. Here's a little photo dump from the last few days. We shot a couple promo videos in a great venue in Genova, Castello Mackenzie. Rehearsals always start with coffee Our mimosa tree in full bloom right in time for international woman's day Mini hike today1 point

I have a lot of loop wheeled t-shirts which I enjoy, but the favorite one is the one from Deluxeware. The fabric is soft and feels a bit brushed, it is a good mid-weight fabric. The construction and the collar holds up nicely. The fit is good, sleeves a bit on the shorter side and the length coming down below the belt, which I prefer. The colour is most true in the picture were I'm wearing it - the black is still really black despite a lot of wear and washes. The sun is out, so it looks more gray on the other pics. I'll deffinetely be getting more stuff from deluxeware1 point

Ever since watching To Live and Die in LA a few weeks ago and traveling to New Orleans, my interest in cowboy boots was piqued. I ended up finding a pair of 1984 Lucchese San Antonio’s in black Cherry (miraculously in my size - 13B) and in good condition for a good price. The color is most accurate in the outdoor pics1 point

66B (Orizzonti-era), size 33, deadstock w/ tags. The pocket tag doesn't say Orizzonti on it like my Kyoto's, but the retail tags had it. I gave it a hot soak/hot wash/air dry. The pre-wash waist measured 87cm and shrunk to 81cm. I can see what you mean @beautiful_FrEaK- the 224 denim is definitely aiming to replicate this fabric. The fit is nice, as if I just sized up 1 or 2 on my 224, which is no surprise. I'll try to get a fit pic at some point.1 point

S516xx. Probably gonna get a wash soon. Can’t remember the last time it had one, maybe even 2023. I have a lot of jackets so none of them develop too quickly but this gets a lot of use in the colder months. It’s a really soft denim these days but started out quite stiff. My favorite part so far is probably the puckering on the hem.1 point

Just a few recent deliveries, first three from Hoosier and last one from Yahoo. Blystone. Gemsa. Trying to camouflage with my tile. Two-tone midweight sweat. Heavyweight sweat in straw cream, found BNWT on Yahoo.1 point

For many years I have been eyeing the ”new” version of the TCB Type 2 jacket. I got the old version in a smaller size but found it too slim for my liking. This time I sized up to a 46 so I can layer it with a thicker shirt or a sweater. I’m really happy with the fit. Much better proportions from the old one. sorry for the bad picture 😕1 point

Fit pics and impressions of my Late S40s jeans. I absolutely love these jeans. This is my first pair of TCB (and first serious, specific repro jeans) and I'm really impressed, especially considering the sub-$200 price tag. I got this size 31 pair from Bears, and had them hemmed to 34", which is the ideal no-cuff length for me. This is an incredibly quirky pair, given the inspiration from the wartime S501xx. The flannel pocket bags are super cool, the sewing quirks charming and fun. In spite of the replication of the oddities of wartime jeans, these are obviously very well made. The denim is dark, hairy, and full of character, so I'm excited to see how it ages and how close it comes to some of the great-looking S501xx pairs I've seen online. The 13.5 oz weight is just about ideal to me nowadays, and is well suited to life in north Georgia where it's pretty warm most of the year. I like the fit a lot, too. The regular rise feels great, and though there's plenty of hip flare and room in the top, after a couple days of wear the fit has settled and I'm quite pleased with it. This is a pair that's easy to wear daily with all sorts of outfits. Highly recommended!1 point

Late 40s jacket arrived in today. Super crispy still and in need of breaking in but very happy with the shorter fit compared to my 20s and all the ww2 detailing! The denim has a bit of a redder hue and is simple but hairy. Wrestled with getting the cinch back to buckle properly a bit but looking forward to wearing this practically daily going forward.1 point

These Cushman special pocket tees also look quite nice. Sewn with the Union Specials 52800 and 39500 as well as the Singers 81 and 71. They also have these openings on the hem to hang them up for drying on a ship.1 point
