I don't. I really hope though! meanwhile I've gave up smoking (for good I hope! it's two months + now) and gained some more weight. I will have to rely on the fact that 38 will actually stretch back to 38, either that or loose weight fast, or a combination of both.. I do hope that Simone will ship today or tomorrow and probably I will be the first to receive them, being in Italy as well... ; )16 points

Oh, I wasn't actually planning on wearing them. I just wanted to add them to my "How Many Pairs" thread list.12 points

If you want to increase the number of wears, simply take them off halfway through the day, wait 5 minutes and then put them back on again!11 points

Barker Black Archdale wingtip in antique chestnut calf. I've wanted these for about a decade but they were ridiculously priced. This used pair was a Christmas gift from my son and his husband. Love the crowned skull and crossbones motif on the toe, outsole, and insole. The design on the sole was made by hand with dozens of tiny brass nails. Amazing craftsmanship.8 points

About 10 months in homemade jeans and they finally required some crotch repairs which is pretty much par for the course for my thighs. One thing I like about black jeans is how subtle repairs tend to be in comparison to indigo. Not that I don't like visible repairs in my indigo jeans, just a nice change of pace to keep things more work appropriate as they break down.7 points

I'm planning on making some pizza on the last day of the contest, rub some of that 00 flour over my thighs and seat to get dem sweet fadez. Some will say that I'm stacking pepperoni. But I like my onions raw and my mozzarella slubby. Will keep it arcuate to my grandmothers recipe.6 points

And of course put them in the freezer for that 5 minutes (to kill the bacteria). Perhaps a hot oven would work too?...6 points

It’s funny to me when people buy work boots and then get nit picky about stitching or boots being slightly off. They’re still made by hand and not a robot so sometimes they won’t match up perfectly.4 points

If these jeans fit, I'll be wearing them minimum five days a week for 12-16 hours... thing is, I have jeans I've worn for the same duration for one-plus years and they've barely faded 😂 I'm in this for the love of the game.4 points

I love the spirit, but y’all are setting yourselves up for failure with all this big talk…you don’t even know if the contest jeans fit you yet4 points

Flying blind on the fit, not sure how oversized they'll be (size 40 is new territory for me lol), so depending on the outcome they'll either be my dedicated all day every days at best, or my new dog walkers at worst. Either way I do plan to increase to a more normalized washing routine as I'm doing the no wash thing on my Ooe's which has caused damage to the crotch stitching. Excited to get this pair though! I will hold off on any other jeans purchases (excluding Ooe; Did I mention them enough yet?) through the duration of the contest in solidarity.3 points

I ordered this Celluloid/Warehouse anniversary jacket - the WW2 Tailor jacket - in early 2024 and it finally came. It’s a coarse/rough/chunky feeling denim, quite dark, unwashed. AFAIK They call it their WW2 denim. When I ordered I somehow missed the bit about the delivery date and thought it was in stock, only to find out it was going to be the better part of a year. Color is most accurate in the close up picture of the placket and the sleeve. https://www.celluloid1984.com/?pid=180239828 It’s sort of combination of Duck Digger and Dead Stock Blue. Apparently they only made 60 of them. I’m a little nervous about the shrunk fit in the shoulders, but everywhere else definitely needs the shrink. This one really was sort of a shot in the dark but it was too unique a piece for me to pass up when it came out. It’s funny how tastes slowly change - I’m not sure I would order it now if it popped up, but I’m not mad that it’s finally here. This doesn’t count as a 2025 buy! If it doesn’t shrink up to a good fit throughout I will probably let it go, but I’m hoping it does!3 points

Since I've been in love with my 30s jacket, I ordered a pair of 30s jeans from Göteborg Manufaktur since they had a size 31 available. These will be my first pair with a cinch waist, too. I'm having them hemmed a bit longer than usual, leaving them at 85cm so I can try to get some of that TCB sag look.2 points

😂 quite right, there's a lot hanging on this, but what's a bit of nervous excitement between denim nerds!2 points

I’ll wear mine for between one day and 546 days - whether they fit or not! My real hope is to get at least something like 3-400 days of wear, but summer, fit and other factors might come into play. Like the fact that my Ooe 01’s are just starting to be an actual broken in pair (after almost a year, and I’m enjoying them. If history is any guide, 546 days is probably not enough for me to thrash a pair (though I never did tally the wear on…anything), but the crotch may need reinforcing and darning by day 100ish, if I get there.2 points

Wearing the contest jeans 3x per week for 18 months will give about 234 wears Is it enough to get some good fades? How many wears are too many? Wearing 7x per week means 546 wears... is that too much? Not long til we get going now...2 points

I like the Parker Knoll Statesman chairs. So I contacted a local upholsterer to ask if she'd be able to re-upholster one if I could find a chair. Better than that she said, I have just got hold of a knackered one to refurbish... the chance coincidence was too good to give up. Given the state the original was in, it was basically a new build based around the original frame. The twisting mechanism had to be repaired and is 'vintage rickety' which adds character methinks. There was fun and games with the fabric... the first boucle fabric sample held onto everything and was a nightmare to clean so that had to be replaced with new fabric... anyhow the job was finished in Dec 2023 so the chair's been in use over a year now and part of the family... Final pic there including recently received copy of Mongrel Kampung by our very own @oomslokop2 points

No way! I have a size 31 on the way as well (from Clever web shop, kind of stumbled upon them by accident and had accepted waiting for TCB to restock them). Also hemmed mine longer than usual, although that ends up being 79cm for my frame. Very excited for the cinch back as well.1 point

Yeah they’re truly great glasses. Quality on a par with anything I’ve seen. My pair of FDR sunglasses are a few years old now and still look new. I inadvertently got mine through a proxy. The site didn’t explicitly advertise themselves as such but the glasses arrived via FedEx from Private Eyes and Trackers who are a Tokyo retailer of Tart. They occasionally have them at Clutch Cafe too but most popular models/colours seem to be out of stock.1 point

Yeah me to. I sold all of my fight jackets except a USA M444. Really big on me now but I still wear it ha ha.. I'm with you on the denim.1 point

I'm going to try to wear once a day, but the length of time will vary on what I get up to in that particular day. Could be one hour of wear or a full 18. Need to put in some wear on other denim I have.1 point

Heh. I bought a pair of Wesco 7500 in 2019, they're very well stitched and have no particular cosmetic issues. My Mister Lou boots I bought in mid 2023 are comparatively sloppy, by far most noticeable on the stitchdown stitching. I found the uneven SPI so irritating that I ended up using black shoe polish to black out those white stitches, now the irregularity is practically invisible and I'm much happier with them, which is nice since beside that sloppy stitchdown work I love everything about the boots. That seems pretty minor compared to the disparity above.1 point
