Thank you all so much! And apologies for the lack of posts here recently, there's been an awful lot going on. We are indeed moving to the US permanently (or at least for the foreseeable future), to a smallish town just west of Philadelphia. We have family and friends in the area, and it's good timing personally. A big change for the business, and I have a lot to figure out over the coming weeks and months. At least for the time being there are no plans to change the current UK production, but I'm also excited to see what new opportunities come along. I'll be taking a couple of months off while stock crosses the Atlantic, so will try to be a bit more active with wear photos etc. ha! quite right, we're going to have a hot welcome.10 points

Perfect slim fit. Definitely giving the Ivy vibe. Been in my 220s for the last couple of days, really rewarding denim once you start wearing it in.8 points

Just came back from watching the Bikeriders movie. Pretty good. Not gonna post spoilers. Matt Codina from Codina Leather made belts for Tom Hardy in the movie.4 points

Here are the Kyoto fit pics. I don’t really gravitate towards these cuts at the moment, but the pattern on these is really well done. I still wish that the rise was a bit higher. These seem like Resolute 710 through the legs and 711 in the rise. Regardless I quite like them and I’ll probably get used to a lower rise again after wearing these for a bit. The more that I look at them, the less wear that I think they’ve had. I’d be surprised if they’ve been worn more than 10 times and washed more than 1 or 2 times. I promise to still grab some macro shots of the details and denim when I get some time and the lighting is better.4 points

@super-thermite nice! Your patch is nicer than mine. Mine is blank. I removed the suspender buttons after two years of struggle and never looked back. They’re really nice jeans. They evolve really good imo. I think it’s about time someone opened a Moto thread. side note - I don’t think freewheelers carry anything remotely similar in width. wearing said jeans, yesterday3 points

@AlientoyWorkmachine We're probably the closest to the St Pauls area. I'm working in the shop (son of a stag) on tues & Weds this week. It's generally quiet enough on those days to be done while you wait- or grab a coffee while it's being done if you prefer. I'm in the workshop (soldier blue) doing repairs on Mon & thurs. It's only 7 mins or so from the shop and would happily pop over to do it. Feel free to DM if you have any questions. Martin2 points

Type 410 three pocket square tail shirt in Achilles' Heel indigo dyed 10oz cross weave denim... now close your eyes and say that again I ummed and ahhed over sizes and could have gone larger but opted for a shirt fit rather than shirt/jacket fit. I'd happily have another one in another fabric (top selection of fabrics kicking around) but would go a size up for layering. This fabric is definitely special, lovely 3D texture and wonderful colour. I gave it a couple of washes before wearing just to be sure to take off any excess dye (safety measure on my part; the shirt has actually had a wash after dyeing, and I understand that the dye is more firmly fixed than in a standard denim). The pics below are pre-wash, taken indoors with the light on...2 points

^working on it, but it's gonna take awhile due to both my life and the denim itself.1 point

To be fair, I measured the front rise of my pair and its about 27 cm out of the box for the size 33 with a 12" thigh at the crotch and 7.75" leg opening and probably stretched another 1 cm after wearing. The rise just feels and looks really low because my legs are very long. Still a pretty low rise by repro standards and lower than my general preference, but the overall pattern makes it work much better on me than other pants that I have tried with comparable rises1 point

@yung_flynn those Kyoto look great and a perfect hayashi-san style! With the colour and everything they are really close to the Resolute 710. I never had a pair of Kyoto (would need a W36 in them) so I didn't know the rise is lower than on Resolute 710. Sp the lower rise combined with the slim fit makes them probably a no go for me. One pair to cross off the "need" list @blooming The 220A look perfect as well! Some Mercari items: Shins era 66XX in W34 in quite a good condition: https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/japan/en/special/order/confirm/https%3A%2F%2Fjp.mercari.com%2Fitem%2Fm92968816353/13_1/ And a Sins era XX in W30 in perfect one-wash condition, good price https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/japan/en/special/order/confirm/https%3A%2F%2Fjp.mercari.com%2Fitem%2Fm33729224263/13_1/1 point

I like it, probably because it’s a buzz . It’s a bit shapeless, sleeves are a bit tight. I guess it’s a vintage fit that they reproduced. But after a few hours of wear it molds nice. The quality is oke. I, d like to get another one , orange and or grey. but not sure wether to go with the same size or size up. But I’m afraid that a bigger size fits like a sack. I’d rather have a slightly to small top than a slightly to big. In pant I prefer too big1 point

So this happened last week... Went outside with the dogs & saw this on the neighboring property. No one lives there but the people had come to mow the perimeter (required by law). Likely their mower blade hit a rock & sparked (apparently they had some remote controlled device). Could also have been an electrical spark. Luckily the wind was blowing away from us although we had all the pets in our vehicles ready to go. Fire crews arrived promptly, all by road rather than air although a plane did fly over to observe at one point. There is a house on the property which was spared. They lost two junk trailers which the fire crews kept a close eye on. The wind took the fire across to another property where no structures were damaged but much of the land was blackened. Once the trailers had burned down the crews made sure all hot spots were extinguished This was a second spot where I could see flames. I went & called them over but I expect they were aware. Later that night we walked around to inspect the overall damage & scope of the burn. And the day after. One of the things I found interesting was that the undergrowth had burned while the taller weeds were still present. I guess the straw/hay type dead growth burns so fast that the fire wave quickly passes by anything green. Needless to say we were relieved & thankful that our place didn't sustain any damage. Hard to say what would have happened had the wind been blowing in our direction. I had mowed a pretty wide firebreak which should have been adequate to stop the spread. This was the closest fire we had ever experienced.1 point

I was able to snag #20 the well worn/faded short sleeve chambray and #45 sack pants. I’m super excited about both but mostly the sack pants since Roy never released any of those.1 point

I have both the 1001xx and 800xx, the Self Edge longer inseam version of both. I haven't noticed any shrinkage on the 1001xx over half a dozen washes or so. The 800xx do seem like they shrunk in length, and I'm not sure why that is. I didn't notice that until after having knee blowouts on the 800xx repaired though so it's possible that the darned knees not stretching out like before have some kind of negative effect on the inseam length. Either way, cold washing should be pretty safe, and you can always get some length back by pulling the legs when they're damp.1 point

lovely to see all these jeans @merzbot @irual @bartlebyyphonics, fading twisting and repairs all looking great. Really good to see a pair of hadal jeans wearing in, too- please keep us posted. Here are my 12oz Cross Weave 136s. I get such a kick out of seeing the right-hand twist on a left hand twill fabric cut sideways 🙂1 point
