About 13 months in, 7-8 months effective wear. 2 regular soaks, 2 regular washes, 3-4 times soaked in rain, 1 hurricane wash, 1 beach wash (kinda just jumped off a yatch to impress a chick)

Damn im a shitty photographer. The white balance is all off and they are more contrasty irl.

Rivets hammered down by me.

Roping is all black stained from my boots, not really showing up.

Thanks, fellas. The rise is good on these. Roy really made a great cut. Fortunately, my dimensions are pretty adaptable and I also really like being able to switch up; I'm generally not picky with regard to rise. My only complaint with these is the smell. After the first wash, they took on a peculiar odor ( insert joke ______ ). Not sure what's up with that, but I just had a salsa accident so they may hit the wash again soon. The denim is still hairy-- I'm looking forward to breaking 'em in. I'm rotating these in with my LVC 44, WH 1100, and Hiut, though once the Devis contest begins...

Great fit on those! There doesn't seem to be a tremendous difference between the RN03 and RS03 cuts. I have and love the latter. I have split the past year about equally between those and my IH dc4001s, but you'd guess that I'd only worn them at the most 1/10 as much as the IHs. Finally seeing slight fading around the wallet, and deep creases behind the knees, but no real fades to speak of. They are really hairy though. I'll be wearing mine for a long time, and swapping them in for the MBBs when it gets too hot for 25oz over the next two years.

Heavyweight denim is overrated. I'd give the Roy's more attention. The notion that heavyweight denim is more durable than average weight denim is a fallacy. Just look at the results of the heavyweight contest and the Eternal contest, both produced jeans that were shredded to shit after two years.

Roy has been producing jeans for over two years now, and the only well worn pairs I have seen have been robbie's OG(?) pair and those from the RxC contest. It's a shame that we haven't seen more honestly worn-in pairs, given that his jeans sell out within weeks (or days?) of being released.

What's next for ROY? I'm hoping he gets Cone Mills to do a proper Raw Unsanforized 17oz or higher denim. I love heavyweight denim, but a great American Heavyweight Denim fabric doesn't really exist. Get on their ass Roy!!!!
