Canada Goose is a damn fine jacket, not my cup of tea, but they're durable.

Not saying they're not, they're actually great. Nobis are even better. It's just not really needed - at least here in Montreal - when you wear some good stuff. You can get away with a good shirt, a heavy hoodie and a leather jacket.

It may be another story in Calgary though.

Anyone have more information about the khaki selvedge chinos on BiG?

The leg measurements of the 36 look great but in the waist they're a full two inches smaller than tagged.

True that - had to go with W34 instead of my Samurai standard size of W32.

Not much to stretch here due to the type of fabric...

Guess I'll have to size up then, I can get into a 35 generally (pair of WH 1001s I have measures out to 35) but 34 could be pushing it. Shame, the leg looks a bit too big next size up.

Well my 710's came from BiG today.  Out of the box this denim looks rad.  Much more slubby than my Momos and my IH634's, and im very stoked on the texture.  Cant wait to try them on after work.

Well, I hope the pictures are the right size and not too crappy...

So 72 hours into my 710's.........1 hot machine wash.  1 HOT hour soak.  Im thinking most of the shrinkage is out of these.  inseam went down to about 34.5 (while wrinkley) and waist is about 33.25.  Havent measured thighs or knee or hem opening.

 

So question as these are my first real unsanforized pair.  What do i do about prior wear before sending back to BiG for a hem????

 

im planning on wearing a 1 inch cuff and dealing with the stacking fror probably a week or 2 till they soften up and the combs get set. 

 

Any pros or cons to this procedure????

 

Aslo this 19 oz xx denim gets HARD after a soak.  Much gnarlier than my IH's

I never got more than 2-2,5" shrinkage in the 19 oz denim. If you got this rate by soaking and wahing (I assume so) you can send them in and tell them your plan. Sounds like a good idea to account for the combs.

Samurai offers a new fit for the 5th anniversary (of their Umeda HQ shop?!).

It's called 511 and is a cross between 710 and 5000. Which sounds great to me.

But the details are not my taste

With those new 511s, I really like the pocket bags and back pocket linings.  I'm even okay with the array of buttons.  But I really do not like those arcs at all!

That's what kills it for me, would still have a hard time getting around the exposed selvedge on the coin pocket.

Having cut my teeth on PRPS and Raleigh Denim, I can get past the buttons and exposed selvedge. And after owning both the 5k and 710, I've wanted a fit that falls somewhere in between, but I could never get behind those arcs.

The arcs, the exposed selvage and all the different buttons ruin it for me. pocket bags and lined pockets are cool. I also like the Lee rivets. Hopefully they will do the 511 cut in a more traditional manner soon.

Totally agreed... exposed coin pocket selvage is pretty corny

I could even live with the buttons. But the exposed selvage on the coin pocket is lame, and I don't think I've met the stitch puller that was a match for those arcs. Which denim is it?

Actually I like the buttons. But one loud detail is enough. I wonder what the mix between 5000 and 710 Looks like...probably a medium rised Slim straight fit. Sounds good, I bet we'll see that cut in other limited Editions this year.
