Still trying to get evo on my IH overdyed type III. This doesn’t give up the fades easily, despite having it for awhile

I've had the same problem. I think I've had mine for 4 years now. I do have some fades happening, but honestly, if I knew it was gonna stay so almost but not quite black, I'd probably have just gone for a black IH type3.

Overdyed is a just a different thing altogether. I have a few pieces (not IH) overdyed and the fades will never be anything but more subtle. I really like them but I get that it's not what some are after. The white core the makes the higher contrast of denim fading usually seems like it's dyed pretty well through with a lot of overdye processes.

My first world problem is that I simply don’t wear mine enough as it’s relegated to Fall/Spring. I think washing it would definitely bring out the fades but I’m taking the wabi sabi approach. 
 

I also have the 21oz type III and that doesn’t get worn at all because I can’t get the damned buttons fastened lol

I was happy to sell IH 21oz type III because of the same problem, buttons. It seems that in the case of this type of jackets buttoning is not intended at all.

About a year and and some change on this jacket. Did a second soak, it's getting noticeably lighter, doing overdyed things. I think I'll put a couple more months on this because I'm starting to see signs of needing repairs on parts of the fades.

Three years of on and off use. Had to retire them and robocop a new pair as the knee blow out and crotch blow out were getting out of hand, otherwise I'd keep wearing them.

They have seen a lot and deserve an eternal life for sure. I would love to see them in real some day.

The A2 deck jacket that's just dropped is bloody gorgeous.

Edit: I've got the N1 IHM-10 navy as my daily, & a new N1 IHM-35 khaki sitting in the closet. Must resist the A2.

Pizza Marumo was amazing!

New IHSH-370 is also amazing. A few wears in and it’s softened up considerably.
