TCB

I really like the look of those late 40s WW2 jeans, like the others more than I liked the original s40. I was on the fence for a while on whether to grab them to fill my surprising lack of WW2 repros but I was more tempted by Rockets instead (and even there I’m still waffling between the WW2 and 37 pair). If TCB ever restocks or these hit Bears though, I still might be tempted because the measurements look identical to the 1890s whose fit I really enjoy (seat is obviously different).

@willi by the way, have you put any significant wear into your pair of Cats Drive jeans? I think that you’re one of the few others here with a pair. I’ve only worn occasionally and I’m still on the fence on what I think of the fit.

Cats Drive jeans?

For info, mine are up for sale, I ultimately came down on the fact I got the size wrong. A learning experience, if they do a re-run I may be tempted to get a size or two bigger.

Same for me. Mine fit and they stretched a ton, but I think that I would have preferred a size larger. I was surprised by how tight they were through the hips and seat initially.

I pull them out from time to time to wear and I always enjoy wearing them, but they've not yet enticed me into a prolonged stretch of wear. I've contemplated selling mine occasionally as well, but I don't really need to clear the space and I do like them so they're remaining for now.

I like the look of the TCB 60s and they seem less trim than resolute 710s. Size 33 in the TCBs have a front rise of 11.5 inches and a back rise of 15 inches. That's a perfect rise for me but does that keep shrinking after washing? Does anyone have measurement of the rise after some good use. I fear they became almost low rise as heard TCB has a tendency to shrink.

I have a pair of 60s in size 32 that I’ve been wearing for about a year. I can share some measurements if that’s helpful. I previously had a pair of the 50s that shrank and shrank with washing. I ended up selling them on because the thighs in particular became uncomfortably snug. By comparison, my 60s have kept their shape very well. At least that’s my impression. I haven’t tried comparing measurements with new.

That would be really helpful thanks. Interesting that the 60s hasn't shrunk as much as the 50s. Maybe I had confused the two when reading about them.

That's super useful thanks! Looks like they've not shrunk much at all in the rise looking at the measurements online. Great colour on these!

My 60s are a size 31, wish I had bought a 32 but they fit. I can also confirm that there was more or less no rise shrinkage on my pair, just a bit in overall length and waist which stretched back out (even more so that I'm about 10lbs up from when I bought them).

The new Late 40s jeans look great. Is it the same denim as the other 40s jeans? I've never been real crazy about how that denim faded, based on most of the examples I've seen, but some of that could be chalked up preferences in washing frequency.

It's a completely new denim. I think it comes from a different mill as well but I'm not positive.

@willi I'm a little confused regarding those late 40s. Did TCB just update their WW2s or is their a new model in the line. Just asking for I couldn't find another pair online other than their ww2... On your photos it seams they don't feature a red tab, which was one thing I like TCB for. Could you confirm?

My guess: they haven't got them at all yet. Just prepared the page once they arrive.

Possible.
But they are selling the black late 40s pants and jackets. And I think, TCB had issued those after the indigo ones.
But who knows.

Like bf said, these are two different models: one with the OD HBT pocket bags, the other with the flannel.
It's also a different denim.
The late S40s jeans also have a red tab, at least the ones sold in Japan.

My late/new S40s do have a red tab, yes. There has only been one production run of these jeans and I'm pretty certain it has only gone direct to consumer so far. I watch many of TCB's usual stockists and none have carried it yet. They are also going to keep producing both 40s models. The original S40 is their bestselling model so I doubt they will stop producing it any time soon.

Which ones is that besides Qurious and Morley?

Many smaller shops carry a few items but Bears is probably the best option for buying TCB other than the factory store. Bears carries almost everything TCB produces, all standard items and most special releases. It's also cheaper to buy from Bears now that TCB started charging extra + shipping for international orders, you can still get the old factory price from Bears.

Unfortunately none of the North American retailers listed here still carry TCB.  Not sure about the other regions but this page probably hasn't been updated in a long time.

How’s the denim feel compared to the No. 2 which I think that they based the different gauge yarn concept on?

Much stiffer and more even than the no 2. The uneven yarn size is not obvious from handling the denim. It's one of the crunchier denims they've commissioned, in the hand it feels more like the Cats Drive Leepro stuff from last year than the original s40.

Thanks! I really like the Cats Drive denim and its hand feel. I’m still on the fence if that fit is for me though.

The No. 2 pair might be my favorite from them though. I weirdly like how saggy the seat is on them
