Levi's 1873 cotton duck on sale at oko ni. £90. Bargain. Still have 32/32 in. Looks like the new run with the new fabric to me. Buy your actual size - my experience is this fabric doesn't shrink..

LVC 1893 at Oki Ni. A total bargain.

THey have the 1920s striped Sunset shirt on sale, too

I bought the duck pants yesterday. I'm afraid though the 32x32 will be too big for me. Well I guess i'll make them work for that price.

Looks like the 32x32 and 36x34 are sold out now.

After getting totally hosed with the s/s2010 201, I looked into what it will cost to have a tailor custom make a pair of 201s using my worthless LVC 201s as a pattern. The raw selvage denim will cost me anywhere from $3 to $10 per yard based on weight and prices I've seen on ebay and web. I'll have a number of weights to choose from in raw vintage shuttle loom redline, white or blueline selvage material from Cone Mills, Chinese and Japanese manufacturers (my choice) or hold out for original deadstock (real vintage) raw denim for pennies on the dollar that shows up on ebay from time to time. I can get the low quality tin buttons and pressed metal bucles like LVC uses for pennies per dozen from countless sources on the web, but will instead have a friend who's a tool and die expert make authentic (complete w/ Levi's logo) steel, iron, brass or copper (my choice) grommet donut buttons (with baked enamel paint finish), rivets and buckle at no cost. I'll either reuse the linen patch from my LVC 201s or have a buddy of mine easily draw up and silkscreen one with full detail using archive web fotos of original 201 patch as guide/template, as he tells me, at his print shop at no cost. My tailor says he will use the best linen thread (my choice of any colour combo) and piece it all together for $30. So for around $40 to $60 (depending on how much the denim ends up costing) I'll have an authentic pair of "vintage Levi's" made with the finest materials and craftsmanship for around $200 LESS than what a pair of low quality watered down LVC vintage knockoffs will cost me.

I hope you do it. How can't you give it a shot for $60.

First LVC post yo!

I just picked up a pair of 1947 501s. I sized up 2 inches from my true waist size. I'm 6' and about 155lbs. Triple cuffed the extra length....

Edit: Pictures are post soak. I did a 4 hour luke warm soak at 8 pm. Hang dried over night. Then sunbaked in my volvo during the hot California afternoon. I put them on at about 2:00 pm when they were nice and toasty dry (:

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Was ist los? Can you tell me how many washes you went through?

I believe 2 initial soaks, 4-5 washes, and a few sporadic soaks if they felt funky. Good luck with your pair, they've really grown on me. I had a hiatus from my pair due to the Warehouse 660 contest and a pair of S710s, but eventually came back to these in the last few months.

Yeah, that's the beautiful mystery of older and well worn in jeans. After a while of no wear you're yearning hard for them...

Definitely. My 32/36 measured 35/36.75 so I'd definitely recommend that for a 34 waisted person.

I second that. I have a 35 inch waist and wish i had bought the 32in.1915's. The 34s just hang off me (even after a 2nd supper hot soak to shrink em down after about 60 wears.)

Are all 1967 505's made from kaihara denim?

On most sites its says so, but on one I found it says "fabric made in USA"

http://www.hanon-shop.com/product.php?productid=28370&cat=426&page=1

Are there any which are made in USA, possibly Cone denim?

This is kind of unreliable information so don't take it as gospel, but I was in Cinch in London a couple of weeks back and tried a pair of the current 505s on and I THINK it had the Cone Denim tag on it. I eventually bought the 54 501z which are definitely Cone denim, so it's definitely being used this season.

Someone like Paul T would probably know for sure!

That's interesting. Would be really cool if the one I am going to get is Cone Denim.

BY THE WAY - there is a up to 40% off sale on LVC at Endclothing.co.uk now. I got the last 34" 505's there for 79 pounds! There are some 1947's on sale but only a few sizes left. Grab em quick!

Edit:

I see on EndClothing they say the denim on the 1967 505's is 12oz red selvage (doesn't state what denim), on Hanon-shop it says 14.5oz, Denim made in USA, jean constructed in the EU, and on Cultizm is says 14.5oz Kaihara denim.

Confusing..

They've confused the 505 with the other jeans. It's Kaihara denim, which I'm pretty certain is 14oz approx, and the jeans are made in Turkey, from 2010 on.

Cone have never supplied Sanforized fabric for the LVC pants, I don't believe - it's always been Kaihara, who seem to specialise in Sanforized. THis definitely applies to the 2010 jeans. Altho now I think of it, it would be interesting to know who supplied the Sanforized fabric for the 701 LAdy LEvi's, 557 jacket and 505 jeans etc first time around.

Hey Roy how do you like those 333s? Great vintage look you have going there.

Thanks!

I love the 333s, but I didn't realize how over-sized they were when I ordered them. This pair is taken in at the waist and the cinch is tied pretty much at the bases, so kind of baggy. If it fit better I'd wear them all the time, I think.

Really a different denim for LVC.
