I always buy em fitted, because after a wash the easily stretch back in waist not so with inseam, you can´t stretch back length...

so you get true waist for LVC? I'm debating either a 36 or 38 waist from cultizm. Thanks for responding too!

whats the deal with the LVC 505's? some say sanforized, the booklet that comes with says you can soak them and they'll shrink. I picked up a pair in 32" that i bought with the intention of soaking so they'd shrink cos they are a little baggy in the thighs. Could someone whos tried soaking them please tell me if they'll really shrink 2" in length and waist...if not im gonna sell. thnx.

ok I gona need someone to answer that has a wide sizing knowledge, I measured my waist and even got someone else to and its 30 and over 31ish lower where I usually wear my jeans.

So i sized down 2 with new standards (to a 2 8) and they were way too big (they were 2nd hand and could of been stretched by previous owner.)

I then got some new cures in 29 (sized down 1) and they look too big for new cures even though i sized down 1

I use to wear grim tims in size 30 which looked like this

so I guess there true to size.

So im really keen on getting some lvc, probaly the 1947's, I sized up 2 on some regular 501's along time (size 33) ago but they came out alot big and baggy after the hot wash. But i dont think i soaked them enough or properly.

What im probaly gona do in the weekend is just head down to the nearest store that sells levis and try on a washed pair (all we seem to get in nz and we dont have any lvc to try on) find my right size in that, then go from there.

so yer im abit confused on how my waist is 30/31 but it never works out in denim sizing.

if anyone happens to have some lvc47's 31's or 32's that dont fit or just dont like, hit me a PM.. I've been thinking about grabbing a used pair just to fuck around in. I usually wear a 30 in most things so I think 31/32 should suffice... I would post this in supermarket but no one goes in there anymore anyways..

Hey Guys. Don't normally big up things I sell but thought I'd highlight a couple of items I letting go from my collection.

The 1933 Heath Celebration from Ss06 EU LVC and an unworn Shorthorn in XL.

The impending birth of my 1st child is forcing me to raise funds and clear space!

Big Love

Hi SuFu,

I got a query on LVC range for chicks.

My Wife would really likes the LVC 701's.

I wanna get her some for her birthday coming up

I think its the 1937 issues that are in the new range.

but she hates the buckle back.

question 1

was there ever a 50's issue LVC for women?

she would never pay for new ones (frugal), and we can only get them online anyhow being in Australia..

so i trawl ebay and yahoo.jp and get various results in searching.

I wouldn't know where to start to Authenticate a real pair.

She really likes the ones like on Ms Monroe in "Clash by night."

question 2

Is there a SuFu user with any tips on what to look out for in tags, labels, rivetting and selvedge for this era ? Pink Selvedge? Leather patch etc etc?

Any expert advice would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

JJ

I've got few questions for anyone who knows much about the Valencia St. stuff. I'm looking at a pair of 1999 201s on ebay. Would the denim on the 99s be similar to the slubbier/greener denim (compared to the 501) like the newer ones have? Also has Levi's changed the cut of their repro 201 since then? I'm looking at size 30 and the seller says they've been washed but he's got the rise listed at 12 and the hem at 19 round (the waist is also 30 and the inseam is 35 which I guess makes me wonder if the shrinkage is all out). That seems a little big to me for a size 30 but I guess I don't know the 201 cut well. These are made in US but were sold in Japan it seems, so I'm not sure if that would make any difference.

Anyway, as far as I can tell they look legit.

As I own the 201 from 07 I am not familar with the 99 version, but cutwise they should be the same, the 201 is very baggy, mine looks like bellbottoms-not very flattering.I did the mistake and sized up from 32 to 33,but they didnt shrink at all,if you go true to size you cannot be wrong.Just keep in mind that the cut is very loose and roomy.Paul T did a great job comparing the version 02 vs 07 here:

btw Paul,if you read this, the jeans should be in London around Tuesday.

Yes, the original 555 is very similar fabric to the current, perhaps even nicer, as that thread indicates. .

I think all the 201 are made big, hence why your jeans, if washed, still measure as the tag size.

I've finally washed my 201, pics soon.
