Got these 2013 bred 1's about 6 weeks ago and ive put countless miles into them , really nice shoe and a colourway that I've wanted for ages . Prices are crazy for breds but I got these for a decent price , being honest I would have preferred the 2016 release but I didn't want to miss out on these and end up having to pay double for some 2016 . As usual I stained the midsole and swapped the laces for some foxtrot laces . Really I can only think of 3 more jordan 1's that I'm after 1 . Kentucky 2 . Black toe 3 . And last 1 of the meralic pairs .... maybe a navy or purple7 points

I recently picked up the SC blanket lined type 2 and the thing I miss most on it is the dome backed rivets. Historical accuracy be damned they are great and all denim should have those. Mostly I wear FW or Tender jackets. I like Tender's rivets using them on the outside as well.4 points

Here is TCB's latest lined jacket, pictured with 30s jean for contrast. They've suggested this could be their last lined jacket, at least on an annual cycle, which would be a relief for my wallet as I've bought each of the last 3 models. Overall very happy with this jacket putting it on the the first time. It is especially pliant and soft, including the lining which makes it comfortable to wear with just a t-shirt. I'm not sure if they will put more of these up for sale once they're done with size exchanges on the pre-order but they often do. I'm looking forward to what they produce next now that they've closed a few chapters of their design philosophy this year.3 points

hey b_F. I think, I can report on those SC 66. What you present as Machine wash changed. It's exactly measurements which I did after you ship them to me.... Unfortunately they are in closet for half of the year, but with the winter they will go out... So, I wore them cca 2,5 months. Now they are more relaxed and they are very comfy.... Top block and upper part of the leg are one of the best parts of jeans I had.... It's really fuller than straight cut jeans... Actual measurement no wash : W : 89 cm FR : 31,5 cm BR : 41 cm Th : 32,5 cm Knee : 24 cm Hem : 20,5 - 21 cm Insem still same2 points

I don't know either but CSF and rebuilt.jp also use the rounded hidden rivets and buttons.2 points

@edwardlj Yes, tax should be excluded for international sales. From what I understand there is a fair amount of paperwork for the vendor to submit to deduct or claim back the tax, so often they just book the sale as domestic and avoid the admin. The other possibility is they’ll book it as international, claim the tax and pocket for themselves. I’d like to think it’s the former.2 points

Here is an oddity that I had to pick up. A pair of no patch M41030 but tagged as a M43030. I cannot find any info anywhere on M43030 so it is either a misprint or some lost version. I can't find any discrepancies between the other pairs I have besides the center most coinpocket stitching going up to the waistband. They also fill the gap I wanted in a pair in my size.2 points

Ok.. ignore my previous statement, aho sent me this msg back in 2012 "Not sure if you've been following the Devi's/Denim Project contest thread, but I just wanted to extend the invite to you It's a straight 1946 repro from a denimhead geek in Japan, not a huge brand just a group of like-minded denim otaku that decided to try their hand at a run 7 years ago. Let us know if you want to participate, jeans will be 20000yen and final payment is due in March" Best, aho This^ was the first time i heard of the 1946 model.. credit retracted CSF2 points

That might be the answer. It would fit with FWs modus operandi to tweak things a little from the historic models, though with their denim, that is probably very little. And that dome shaped rivet is really a beautiful thing.1 point

I think the devis jeans were a few years before CSF iirc , that would have been the first time i remember hearing about a 46 501xx1 point

@indigoeagle.. when i first posted about the CSF-46s over on DB back in 2016 "Conners Sewing Factory have had access to Yawara Miura's 3000 strong Levi's collection and using restored machinery of the era have recreated the rare 1946 model which still featured key elements from WWII restrictions, a transition (if you will) between the 44,s and the yet to come 47,s" The months preceding was my first introduction to a 1946 model.. i can't remember a 46 model being mentioned on sufu before this date so i would say yes.. you can probably credit CSF with the above. I seem to remember .. maybe Duke saying that the FW-47s was actually based on a pair from 1946 but they were called a 47 so CSF did coin the '46' phrase.1 point

@indigoeagle I think the rivets shown there are indeed the round / chubby kind—compare to, e.g., the ones used at the front pocket opening As far as I can tell (someone please correct me, otherwise??), there’s no historical precedent for the extra extra chubby backs that The Vanishing West use for the backs of their buttons & hidden rivets1 point

Two points, that I didn't fully understand. 1. Hidden rivets They're saying, that the 46 is still round and "chubby". The FW 47 for example has this dome shaped rivet. But the one in the video looks different, flat. Might just be the picture and they're similar. 2. Loose threads on the fly and in the pocket, kirippanashi The 43 still has lose threads, while the 46 is sewn cleanly. Or is this something else?1 point

Just out of curiosity, that’s the Skid Row shirt you are wearing right? May I ask what size it is and your height? For size comparison 🙂1 point

..and my therapy I've managed to avoid covid so far.. i spotted an article a while ago which read.. "So You Think You're a Superdodger" .. Oooh! this is me I thought .. I bet i'm like Bruce Willis in Unbreakable.. it went on to say that i've probably got no friends and/or social life.. Huff! that article did nothing for my self esteem There is a young couple who live on the corner of our street with a Cornish Rex called Tofu.. judging by the half dressed manaquins around the house, i think they work in the fashion/garment industry.. one girl is chinese, her partner is white.. They have a drop-box in front of their house and receive a lot of deliveries.. (like most of us nowadays) one of the old geezers who lives on the other side of the road to them (he spends his day gazing out of his window and chatting to passers-by) said to my wife.. "they get a heck'ova lot of deliveries don't they.. do you think they're drug dealers?" ..Y'know, Amazon Prime dropping off your meth.. Hello Fresh delivering your weed? 'Foreign, lesbian, cat loving, vegan, drug dealers'..? that's what you call a minority group!1 point

@chicote there is a mushroom in the Amazon called ophiovordyceps unilateralis (Dave would be easier to spell) which can infect ants and control their behaviour remotely like Big Track, during the incubation period they go back to the nest, if ants sense another ant is ill they’ll eject them but not in this case.. once the fungus has taken control of the ants behaviour.. it leaves the nest like a zombie and searches for a climate with perfect humidity for fungal growth, it climbs to a vantage point of exactly 10” from the ground, secures it’s jaws into a leaf on the north face of a plant and waits for its death.. at which point the mushroom sprouts out of the ant and the cycle continues.. it’s how they colonies different areas.. what’s remarkable is the fungus doesn’t affect the ants brain only their muscles so the ant is an unwilling zombie controlled remotely by a puppeteer.1 point

Good mail day yesterday for my birthday, two pairs I had been considering for awhile. Paraboot Reims in lisse cafe. Purchased at 50% discount from a shop in the EU. Color in the first photo is the most accurate, they have a tendency to have a purple / color 8 appearance in some lighting. Limmer Lightweights, shout out to Duke for suggesting these when I had been considering a Japanese brand that I wasn't sure about for sizing. I placed the order for these back at the beginning of October, unfortunate timing as they were just leaving to visit the factory in Germany that produces them. While I'm not a serious hiker whatsoever, I was wanting one pair of shoes I can take for our travels to London / the EU this winter that will take a serious beating. Being a size 11.5/12 it's difficult to pack any shoes in my luggage while traveling, so these will be my travel companions.1 point
