  1. Every new pair from Ooe is my new favorite pair of jeans ever, and this time is no exception. Sized up to 40 as my size 38s have been a bit tight, and it's the perfect fit. Like my WOMCON's but tightened up in all the right areas. Will be hard not wearing these during the contest, but these will probably be my main jeans overall the next 10+ years they're that good for me.

  3. Saw this detail on an original pair and thought l'd plonk it here. Don't think this WW2 amateur stitching has been replicated yet - two types of stitch count l'm assuming, done on the same machine?

  8. This is my latest work, a briefcase/folio. This somehow has less pieces of leather than @Duke Mantee's bag - but with big pieces like this it's easier to have one piece of leather than having to do more long stitch lines. Especially when you're dumb like me and decided to use 2.7mm irons for a bag. Learned lots, got better at perlage (setting rivets and making them look not shit) and decided I like French stitching clams.

  9. Ha! I do keep asking for things from you @Duke Mantee 😊🙌 I really have never had such nice leather pieces that bring me so much joy until you. Your work is impeccable, the leather you choose is interesting and luxurious. I couldn’t be happier!

  11. Just got an email that the Late S40s jacket I preordered a while back had shipped, I'm excited. Never wore a Type I before so it'll be a nice change of pace, and the price compared to similar jackets by Warehouse, Sugar Cane, Freewheelers, CSF is very appealing. I'm planning to wear this for the next Redline Rally, so I probably won't start actually wearing until next year but I'll share some pics and impressions after it gets here.

  14. I was trying to hold out until the three month mark for a wash, but we went to a ren fest yesterday and got rained on. So the jeans were just too grungy. Jeans are out drying in the sun now, I'll get some post wash pictures this weekend.

  15. So, I've looked again into the different types of denim by WH for the years 30-50s. Besides the well known banner (7x7, ca. 13.5/13.75oz) and Memphis cotton denim (6x6, 14.5oz) there are at least three different other ones. 1. The new denim, WWII denim. I think, this was first introduced with the 25th anniversary pair S1001XX (1946) (perhaps earlier?). This denim is not DSB and has an orange selvedge. It's 6.7x6.6, ca. 14oz. And quite coarse. The relatively recent Duck Digger Lot S1003XX (1944 MODEL) (with the flannel pocket bags) is also of that denim. 1946 model: 1944 model: 2. Then there are two DSB. Both have a pink selvedge. I guess, the idea is, that same as the denim has changed by oxidation in the decades of the storage, the selvedge lines have also changed. Same with the tab, which is also pink in some pairs. The suffix (1000XX) seems to indicate DSB. For jackets (2000XX). a) the lighter one 7.5x7.5 ca. 13oz Used for example for the 1953 and 1954 pairs. Also for the Lot.2001XX(2000XX) blanket lined jacket and the 1936 model. b) the heavier one 6.7x6.6, ca. 14oz. The Lot S1003XX(1000XX)【1942MODEL】is made of this denim. 1942 model:

  22. The slings are actually complicated bags - the standard and smaller sizes both have about 14~16 pieces of leather and a LOT of saddle stitching in relation to their volume Stitching is where the time is taken, that’s why you’ll see on commercial products the work is done by machine; or smaller businesses who do want to truly claim hand made but still look for ‘profit’ will look to use a design that has much less sewing (folding/glueing/rivets) and perhaps employ low SPI where sewing is still necessary

  28. I thought wearing raw would yield quicker fades, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I am starting to see the crease lines lightening up now, and in bright sunlight the knees appear a little bit pale. Still a long way to go. Not a bad thing.

  32. Importantly, was the ball spherical or did it have pointy ends? The term ‘soccer’ comes from Oxford-er slang, which was prevalent at Oxford University from about 1875, and is thought to have been borrowed from the slang of Rugby School. Initially spelt ‘asoccer’ (a shortening of ‘association’), it was later reduced to the modern spelling. This form of slang also gave rise to ‘rugger’ for rugby football and the now-archaic ‘footer’ that was also a name for association football. The word ‘soccer’ arrived at its current form in 1895 and was first recorded in 1889 in the earlier form of socca. I’m not sure about ‘fitba’ though… Still, if you’re wearing WoM jeans, then surely its calcio?

  33. My pair of cloth patched M41001's arrived this afternoon. They definitely seem rigid and deadstock from 1997 with the shrink-to-fit sticker still attached. There was no cardboard flasher though. Was there one at some point or did this model not have one? I was in a bit of a hurry, but I tried to snap a few detail shots for posterity's sake. I plan to shrink these when a get a chance (either this weekend or in a few weeks). Let me know if there are any others that you'd like me to snap beforehand or if there are any that you would like a more ca refully focused shot of. Photo resolution should be better if you click on the image. I have raw measurements as well and will post before and after fit photos and measurements once they're shrunk

  37. Comparing the DSB with the WWII denim. The jacket sleeve is from the Blanket lined Lot.2001XX(2000XX) which is the 7.5x7.5 pink selvedge DSB denim. The jeans are the 25th Anniversary S1001XX (1946) 6.7x6.6 orange selvedge WWII denim.

  43. Got these wide straight Oni's 200ZR back in 2023, made from 21oz secret denim with that special green cast. they already were soft from the start and became softer even more after one or two washes. I wore em through winter almost everyday until now and love the fact that they still evolve beautiful honeycombs though being already washed and super comfy.

  48. Hey all. Here are my 710, worn regularly for at least two years. I bought them in 2016 when Hayashi-san did a meet and greet in Hong Kong but only starting wearing them around 2019 I think. Really loved these jeans - My all time favourite pair - and they held up well, only blowing out at the back pocket and knee eventually. They look more washed out IRL but you get the idea…
